Yep, cool to see that the short interlude will be a part of the record, it sounds sick Though, I just can't understand some people tastes in music. When I read "those 13 sec are better than everything else heard so far", it's just... It's weird that some people will always prefer whatever random electronic 10 sec noise over complete songs with heavy guitars. As weird electronic noises were that innovative or "cuttingedge" or crazy. As there aren't a million bands in the world doing that noisy/industrial/weird music thing /rant
Who has actually said that? On topic: I think we will get some 4 min+ songs based on the interview with Brad. So far it looks like we have some songs with just above or just below the 3:30 mark - which doesn't mean the songs themselves are "standard" in anyway
Well, my bad, it was more of "I prefer this over all heard so far". Some users in this thread or the other one (22p) said that. I just don't get it, but well, that's not a big deal.
when will people argueing learn to listen to understand and not to reply, drop the ego already and see the truth in one another's words. on topic i hope we'll find some longer songs. people get me excited with the interlude-talk, trippy? oh yeh :3 more layers and sounds on the album version then the radio edit? oooh lala! can't wait! EDIT: also, excuse me if i'm wrong, but shouldn't 'Niow' be 'Now' in the title?
I thought Final Masquerade would be the Instrumental. Now I am afraid Drawbar is the Instrumental/Interlude. I certainly hope not.
The run time of the 5 songs are (if my math is right) 20minutes and 40 seconds. There's still 7 songs left so I think that the total run time will be about 40-45 minutes and that's including my guess of a short instrumental. I'd be satisfied with that.
I just find it absurd that a 90's kid's wet dream (Linkin Park - Rage Against the Machine collab) would be an interlude. Given that Drawbar was conceived through a whole day of jamming, I don't see it being an interlude. I see it going for 4-5 minutes tbh.
You're math is almost right! I just used Excel to add the length of each track up. In addition, I tried to predict how long the others will be. This is the result: The yellow highlighted tracks are the tracks given 'til today.
See, this is why I want longer tracks. It'll be so satisfying for me - someone who LOVES instrumentals - that the longest song on THP will be one. I'm not saying its any of you guys in particular, but people always poo-poo instrumentals like Session or C4TI, Wake etc as not being "proper" tracks when I love them just as much or if not more than some of the "real" songs. I for one hope that Drawbar (if it is an instrumental at all) is something like this... i mean, in all honesty, it probably wont be, but a 9min+ jam would be epic. An instrumental no one could ignore. Especially if Tom Morello is on it to!
Of all Metallica instrumentals. you post Suicide & Redemption? I would have gone with Orion. But I'm with you. I love instrumentals. I feel like an LP instrumental with Tom Morello would work a lot better than one with vocals anyway. Oh, btw, Wake is one of my favorite LP tracks. One of my favorite instrumentals, from the metal world at least.
Ah yeah, I used S&R mainly as it's somthing more akin to what LP might write. "call of the kutulu"? Let's not kid ourselves here
