Ugh. These lyrics definitely do not inspire any confidence in this album for me.

Really, almost everything about this cycle for me has been off putting. We'll see though.

I think these lyrics are not nearly as bad as UIG. And I think they'll sound better in the context of the song.

I honestly don't think the lyrics are final. Seriously, how many times have we obsessed over a lyric sheet in a making of only to have those lyrics never ever make it on an album? I think it's best we relax.

    Choruses are often like that.

The rap lyrics underneath though seem great to me

The only thing keeping me hopeful that that is true is the evidence of Burn It Down's horrible demo lyrics.

The final version of BID, I feel similarly to UIG. The verses are really good but the chorus and bridge sucks.

Choruses for terrible pop radio singles with the sole purpose of making the song stick in your head are often like that, yes. I'm not sure why that excuses it though.

Has that happened a lot? I don't really remember the pre-album videos that well. But yeah I'm just gonna pretend like I didn't see those lyrics.

I'm still holding out hope that I'll like this album, because of the Until It's Gone ending. Is that weird? I just think the principle of making this really light poppy hopeful song and then tacking this weird heavy beat on the end of it with a baby laughing for no reason means they're going into this album with a "bonkers" attitude (as they might put it). And that is exciting. Here's hoping the whole album isn't the same me-you vague angst that they've been writing for over a decade already.

Some of the best songs this year have been just that. Just because a song is written to be catchy doesn't automatically make it bad

The ending portion of Until It's Gone also reminded me of them doing those poppy demos (heavy rap beat with bass). It's almost like they go "here's a tiny peek at our trash can, and here is a baby laughing like "did you think that's what we're on?" and then Rebellion jumps in.

Sidenote: Derek are you allowed to post any more small lyric portions of the other four tracks you heard? Or will you get in trouble? Like another bar from a rap verse

For what lyrics can actually be seen, this is exactly how it reads:

    Giving you what was __________
Your words are clear but their meaning’s gone
The words are right but the tuning’s wrong
And when you tell me again that
    I should give in
I can only take it so long long long

    A%#&! / YOU’RE TERRIFIED TERRIFIED
YOU’D RATHER THROW IT ALL AWAY ALL AWAY ALL
    AWAY / YOU’RE TERRIFIED TERRIFIED
YOU’D RATHER THROW IT ALL AWAY

Fear is dancing inside your eyes
    Exposing secrets that you’ve disguised
And I’m biting my __________ (tongue maybe?)
    As you become
    Victim of a compromise
‘cause I know who you really are

There's also just a few words of the last couple lines that can be made out, such as "be punished," but most of the rest is either too blurry or covered up.

    I'm a fan so far.

While I see certain people slowly losing hype on here, I'm just sitting here thinking it'll be the best LP album yet personally

More of a Guilty All The Same promotional video than a THP promo video.

How about Mike rapping: "I'm not playing"

Personally I will rest my judgement until I hear the record. This video got me even more hyped!
But calm down people, one of the better songs off LT had this as a chorus: "VICTIMIZED, VICTIMIZED; NEVA AGAIN; VICTIMIZED"

Mike's rapping flow/swagger is much worse now than it was in Meteora and that is saying something. The Caucasian Mike joke verse he did for Burn It Down was funny because he was acting like it was so much more awful than the corny delivery he was already going for.
