    Because opinions are a thing.

Now that's an intelligent fucking answer.

Globally I have no idea. But here in Spain, Lana is going to sell a lot more, I'm pretty sure.

Barely. They barely beat Maroon 5. For like a week it was so close they weren't sure who had the #1 spot.

And I'm leaning more towards Lana.

I don't care about how well it will do. The Hunting Party will chart well in my playlist.

I think that Linkin Park really wants to chart #1, so I hear SPOILER ALERT: they're moving the date of the release so they can be assured that top spot.

I Honestly dont even think LP cares about charting #1.

Warner probably does but LP probably doesnt tbh

I'm honestly gonna disagree. I think LP does hope they debut or reach #1. Not because they necessarily care about sales and will write songs with the intention to sell a million records, but because they want everyone to hear/realize that people can be successful writing actual rock instead of the indie rock/pop that's dominating both the charts and radio right now, which would, hopefully, inspire more bands to create visceral and carnivorous songs, instead of the radio safe songs that are the cultural norm now. I mean, the band has said that's what they hope to accomplish with the album, and hitting number 1 definitely will bring some attention. Just my 2 cents.

The top 2 albums of 2014, and I haven't even heard either of them yet. Both are phenomenal artists, and whether she or they hit #1 I don't care.

    Quality >>>> Quantity Sold.

I love her music. Her debut as Lana was more of a concept album but I don't think a lot of people got that. She seems very vapid if you don't get that she was playing a Marilyn Monroe type socialite in old Hollywood.

All that said: LP has charted 1 out the gate every studio album post-HT. Freaking ATS was number 1 at its debut.

Reanimation debuted at 2 and Collision Course at 1. They have an amazing track record.

I sorta dislike Lana's new song. But to be honest, Lana has gained a lot of momentum after she released a couple of songs.
That said, LP gained a lot of buzz this time since everyone's talking about how they are going back to "old sound" or making "loud" songs again etc etc.

    My bet is on LP.

And while LP beat Maroon 5, Maroon 5's album went on to sell much more cause of the poppy songs that got played continuously on the radio.

Also, keep in mind that LP is the only band to have 5 records debut at number 1. Many consider Reanimation as an album.
