In the last couple of weeks we have managed to learn a lot more about the upcoming release of the Limited CD + DVD Edition of The Hunting Party. We knew it was to be an international exclusive that wouldn't get a US release, and thanks to website Nuclear Blast, the contents to the 2nd disc was outed as the MTV World Stage performance from Monterrey, Mexico filmed on September 12th 2012. However, last week a Best Buy listing revealed that the CD + DVD Edition would be getting a North America release after all, exclusive to their store. 01. Intro (Live In Monterrey) 02:31 02. A Place For My Head (Live In Monterrey) 02:49 03. New Divide (Live In Monterrey) 04:40 04. Somewhere I Belong (Live In Monterrey) 04:16 05. Points Of Authority (Live In Monterrey) 03:21 06. Lies Greed Misery (Live In Monterrey) 02:28 07. Lost In The Echo (Live In Monterrey) 03:55 08. What I've Done (Live In Monterrey) 03:37 09. Burn It Down (Live In Monterrey) 03:54 10. In The End (Live In Monterrey) 03:29 11. Bleed It Out (Live In Monterrey) 04:51 12. One Step Closer (Live In Monterrey) 04:10 Now to make this more confusing, HMV Japan have a really odd listing for The Hunting Party that shows a completely different live show for the 2nd disc. Listed as a European CD + DVD Limited Edition, this version is shown to feature the Carson, CA show from the LIVING THINGS TOUR recorded on Sept 8, 2012 and was aired live on AXS TV in the US. However, the listing is odd. It doesn't omit any live tracks from the DVD, which whilst not too unrealistic with a 90+ minute set, it's a little unusual for the apparent DVD to be unedited, as usually some tracks are removed. Not only that, but the way the tracklist is formatted is weird in that it lists With You with the "2012 Intro" and Waiting for the End with the "Wall of Noise Outro", which again, isn't unrealistic, but that type of information is something you'd expect on a fan-site setlist update and not an official WB retail listing for a DVD. So that, coupled with the information we already have about the Monterrey, Mexico show being confirmed for the Europe / Best Buy CD + DVD Edition, it makes me question the possibility of this DVD version and listing. LIVING THINGS TOUR Sept 8, 2012, Carson, CA 01. Faint 02. Papercut 03. Given Up 04. With You (2012 Intro) 05. Somewhere I Belong 06. In My Remains 07. New Divide 08. Victimized (with QWERTY) 09. Points of Authority 10. Lies Greed Misery 11. Waiting for the End (Until it Breaks Intro, Wall of Noise Outro) 12. Breaking the Habit 13. Leave Out All the Rest / Shadow of the Day / Iridescent 14. The Catalyst 15. Lost in the Echo 16. Numb 17. What I've Done 18. One Step Closer Encore 19. Burn It Down 20. In the End 21. Bleed It Out I don't really know what to make of this DVD version appearing on a legit retail website such as HMV, especially when the site lists BOTH versions and mainly because there has only been confirmation of the Mexico show appearing on a Europe Limited Edition so far. It doesn't make much sense to have two Limited Edition DVD versions of The Hunting Party with two different shows. It'd be safe to assume the DVD has just been wrongly listed for whatever reason, especially when the catalogue numbers are almost exactly the same "9362493698" with the exception of HMV Japan not including the final digit "936249369". I'd take this listing with a grain of salt and put it down to an error until we have more information, but I personally expect it to be changed soon and just wanted to address the confusion. May 22 Update: HMV Japan have updated the page with a manufacturers description of the album, including a mention of the performance being the Carson, CA show. I can't translate Japanese too well, but here's what I can translate: It also appears that Tower Records Japan is also listing the LIVING THINGS TOUR Sept 8, 2012, Carson, CA show as the European Import DVD, and even goes on to name it in an updated description from the sales agency along with the same exact tracklist. May 26 Update: Tower Records has now officially changed to the Monterrey tracklisting, but HMV and CDJapan still list Carson. Safe to assume they'll all change to Monterrey at some point. Oh look, both DVDs are entirely forgettable! Except the one with yet another live performance of Breaking the Habit. What is WBR thinking with these packages? Also *well-researched
Joe for most dedicated member . Seriously, LP. ALL you had to do was fucking compile your studio work into a DVD and you'd have your fanbase jumping up and down and giving you their money. This is just too confusing.
I'm looking forward to seeing this on DVD, as it's one of the few great performances of "In My Remains".
I'm just more excited the US I getting a deluxe version. I don't care if the show IS two years old. Hopefully it means THP digipack. Also, I'm so confused now as to whether the band and album name will be on the cover or not.
The linkinpark.com deluxe edition is more likely to be a digipack; an edition like this one, IMO, is probably a jewel case like an international edition would be.
Do we have more info regarding the European DVD edition? Will this one also include the artbook or is the artbook exclusive to the Deluxe Edition on linkinpark.com?
Not according to what management told us when pre-orders went up. Though, they did back-pedal and tell us that the Deluxe might not actually be available in store after all, so who knows.
