It's ARTISTdirect y'all. Their reviews are extremely unreliable. Every album to them "COMPLETELY CHANGES THE FACE OF ROCK AS WE KNOW IT!!!" Literally, I think I remember them describing Living Things in that way.
Based on this article: KTTK, War have screaming (already knew this tho) We know: UIG has te scream at the end I believe Derwk said Wastelands has some screaming. Confirmed 5-6 tracks with screaming. So that leaves two more. I believe Rebellion has screaming? So if its 6, which song is the last one with screaming? :khaledthink:
Brad certainly did step up his guitar work from previous albums from what I've heard, but I'm skeptical on the 'guitar god' comment. I think Brad's a stand up dude, but he hasn't exactly done anything legendary on record yet. I welcome myself to be surprised though.
It feels nice as a fan to read such a glowing review (no matter how over the top it might be haha), but I had to shake my head at "modern guitar god".
Hahahahaha this guy. 2010, A Thousand Suns review by Rick Florino: 2012, Living Things review by Rick Florino: Rick Florino. Please don't take this review seriously guys.
I somehow feel like reviews of this type end up making my impression of the end-product WORSE then actually making me hyped for it... But I guess I find it hard to believe that 15 years of PowerChords makes you a "Guitar-God"
Nobody is killing the hype, but Rick Florino's reviews are kind of a part of the album cycle everyone looks forward to, because the reviews he writes are just so over the top and they're great to quote. It's literally a tradition for a new Linkin Park album. A Thousand Suns Living Things The Hunting Party
I wholeheartedly agree, Brad has definitely stepped up his game and I really admire the evolution he's taken. Like you I would LOVE to eat my words but I feel as though he's probably still far away from being anywhere near "godly". Still the man definitely knows how to make some killer catchy riffs and from the looks of The Hunting Party so far, we're in for some of the most exciting riffs yet.
what if his right this time ? after all he's not the only guy who get blown by the awosomeness of THP
Well, on the bright side, it does give the album a boost on Metacritic, if they include this review, that is. I never really understood how Metacritic chooses their reviews.
There you go: http://www.metacritic.com/about-metascores Yeah so Rick Florino in all likeliness doesn't matter that much.
I've gotta say this close to release I'd rather not know what songs have screaming. Chester's screams are some of the most surprising elements of an LP song now to me, and I'd love to go in the album blind enough to still be shocked by them.
