Hi, long time LP fan and LPA lurker here. Finally got round to registering on what is imo the best band fansite/community that exists for any band, let alone LP, so first of all a massive thanks to all those guys that make it happen, it's truly appreciated. I'm not into over-hyping things but i'll certainly say that Derek's detailed and in depth review has me very optimistic that i'll enjoy this album, and from my point of view I really can't see what was inaccurate about some of his initial track reviews in the first place, they pretty much tallied up for me as I do genuinely find Until it's Gone to be very good and atmospheric. I'm pretty much open minded when it comes to new music, especially when it comes to a band like LP who will by definition always be changing it up, so i'm sure that i'll enjoy THP anyway, my only wish being that the mixing on it was at the same standard as MTM, but when it comes to whether it's heavy/has rapping/screaming and o which songs i'm pretty ambivalent. As long as it's interesting, i'm happy.
i don't think all of the songs have got these "interludes". but i think it gives you kinda limp bizkit feeling to it :'D
Yall should quit drilling Derek with so many questions and just read what's in the review. Stop being so selfish. The guy is fucking busy. If his review didn't already answer some of your questions then just wait for more reviews...or wait a week or so until the fucking album comes out. Theres a bunch of impatient selfish assed people on this forum right now.
Awesome review, I'm really digging how the tracks are described. I'm looking very much forward to this album! This album will absolutely help me get through my exams .
The review is about as conclusive as you could expect, it's only 2 weeks to go surely people can wait that long without having every fucking minor detail about every track. Reviews are subjective anyway, why not wait and be surprised, surely thats more enjoyable?
Thanks for the fantastic and well-written in-depth review Derek, it's much appreciated. I enjoyed reading your six track sampler review and this was an excellent continuation of that and tied your thoughts altogether perfectly. I'm really looking forward to Keys to the Kingdom, A Line in the Sand and now War and Mark The Graves after your review. I can't wait! Only 10 days to go until I should get the physical copy of the album! What I'm also looking forward to from Derek's review: riffs, SCREAMZ, rapping, Mike's vocals, SCREAMZ, guitar solos, Rob's fast drumming, MORE SCREAMZ, harmonies... all of it!
Drawbar was nothing special (hence me not really going into detail in its review), and UIG will likely be skipped by me when listening to it in the future. Hence why this CD is not going to have a 10/10 when my review goes live in a day or so. That being said? It's still getting a high review, and that's because its fantastic.
Hey really nice review!!! I'm very hyped for ... eh ... all of the songs even for The Summoning xD But one question for you Derek: After having the possibility to hear "WAR" what do you think of this http://distilleryvesper4-0.ak.instagram.com/e14b6b1a5ad611e38b53121805cc43e2_101.mp4 link now? Is it really fake or war?! Thank you
Incorrect. I said I disliked 2 LP songs, which yes did Include Robot Boy at one point. But I have since given it another shot, and it has grown on me. Now I only dislike UIB
Im very happy for this because like someone else said that sound so generic And Thanks for the review derek it makes the waiting less painful
