I'm very excited about KTTK and War. Final Masquerade and ALITS looks very interesting and promising too. AFN doesn't really look that promising to me. I think it might just be another Wastelands. Good and all, but nothing too special after all.
It states in the AFN review that Chester sings the chorus, however I thought it had been said that Paige Hamilton does. The article goes as far to say it's difficult to detect his presence on the track at all, i'm hoping this is inaccurate. Certainly Chester mentioned yesterday about Paige adding vocals to the track, and i'm also hoping his guitar playing is also fairly prevalent as it would add something different.
I don't really remember anyone saying that Paige does sing in the song. I might be wrong, but from all the reviews I've read, nobody has stated it. So I suppose he is just in the guitars.
It's 100% Page Hamilton singing the chorus. Chester does feature in the chorus too though by shouting between Page's vocals briefly.
they are great. but besides them, LITE, BID, LGM and wastelands are shitty as hell. UIB is better but follows the same lyrical content. KTTK and AFN according to the reviews are as bad as his rap on most of living things. i agree in a way, but theres a bit diference between knowing your potential and being prepotent. he rap about how "enemies" or whoever it is cant break him down, but who is the enemy? he is proud of being superior to the "haters", but who is hating? this "tough mike" is like those bitches from school that think that everyone else is trying to be like them, and who dont want to is a jealous hater. get what i mean? thats the big difference between WTCFM and living things rap. WTCFM had a target, living things and wastelands dont.

Very well said. Edit: Also, this excerpt from the review caught my attention: ” There's also a pretty, tinkling piano outro, setting up 'the heavy shit' that follows..." The way he puts "the heavy shit" in quotes almost comes off as sarcastic to me. Something tells me this guy still doesn't really take Linkin Park seriously.
It's actually in reference to one of the album's many transitional skits / interludes between the songs. After All for Nothing there's audio of Brad saying to Mike "Put the heavy shit there", with Mike responding "The heavy shit?". Guilty All the Same then kicks in.
It might not appeal to everyone, but rap rock isn't always "mediocre" or "average". We'll see. That's actually pretty badass imo
Im aware of that. I think the reviewer is sarcastically commenting 'the heavy shit', meaning his idea of heavy shit and Linkin Park's idea of heavy shit are two different things.
After a few track impressions that say similar things, I feel all that's left to do is actually listen to the album. 13 days to go!!
Btw... I've noticed some similarities in the "War" reviews... The song really seems to be one of the most un-Linkin Park tracks the band has ever made! If those affirmations are correct, then I swear, if I still read some "Y LP NO EXPERIMENTING?!" about this track, I'm gonna be mad
I can agree with that! I understand some people wouldn't like the song but if they complain its not experimental enough, then I don't know what to say. However, they can say its lot the kind of experimentation they wanted.
Yep, of course. There's a big difference between recognizing the experimental effort even if you're not digging the resusts, and totally denying any kind of experimentation because you don't like the results. If that makes sense.
I like this review because it acknowledges some weaknesses on the tracks too. Not as hyped as I'd like to be for this album, anyway. Awesome.
