I'm surprised Qwerty managed to hold himself from listening to Rebellion. I'm struggling to stop myself here. I'm actually glad that there are some who don't like the song because it brings down my expectations after reading extremely positive comments about it.
I feel like a junkie. A junkie who just got his fix…I need to hear the whole album again in my own ritualistic way but this is definitely my favorite tune. Did someone really say it's like The Messenger? LOL they have almost nothing in common.
awesome. so far its my favorite, first one that really got me since the first listen, love the mood of the song. chester sounds pretty good, but he is clearly avoiding going to high on this album, he highest note so far out of four songs is in the "oooh" close to the end of this one. FM>Rebellion>Wastelands>GATS>UIG
Not listening to it. Heard 4 songs already. Damn seriously I hate it when an album leaks 1 song at a time. Just ruins the experience. Band needs to put up a stream of the album on iTunes or something.
Lovin' it. Could be a bit longer and they use the same structure, but other than that, it's great. The first song from THP that gave me that fuzzy feeling inside listening to it
Lovin' the lyrics as well. This is what I made out. Tearing me apart with word you wouldn't say Suddenly tomorrow's moment washed away Cuz I don't have a reason and you don't have the time But we both keep on waiting for something we won't find The light on the horizon is brighter yesterday Shadows floating over, skies begin to fade You said it was forever but then it slipped away Standing at the end of the final masquerade All I've ever wanted, the secrets that you keep All you've ever wanted, the truth I couldn't speak Cuz I can't see forgiveness, and you can't see the crime If we both keep on waiting for what we left behind The light on the horizon is brighter yesterday Shadows floating over, skies begin to fade You said it was forever but then it slipped away Standing at the end of the final masquerade the final masquerade the final masquerade Standing at the end of the final masquerade The light on the horizon is brighter yesterday Shadows floating over, skies begin to fade You said it was forever but then it slipped away Standing at the end of the final masquerade
FM is like the calm before the storm that comes from ALITS, kinda like how "The Messenger" was the calm after the dust settled. The conflict is over from "The Catalyst" and all that's left is a man with his acoustic guitar.
All five songs released until now are very different from each other but they have one thing in common: "extremely catchy choruses".
Every freakin song has sounded so raw and unpolished. I understand that's what they were going for but Jesus. I'm tired of knowing there are several awesome layers to these songs and being unable to hear them because of the poor quality. That's the one apsect of Linkin Parks I've always liked - the music was clean, polished and sharp. This latest stuff is very potato-esque. I really hope once I hear the CD quality stuff this won't be an issue.
So, you're saying that LP's goal is really just to have me spread their choruses around the world and get it stuck in everyone's head?
It's a beautiful song. I think the CD quality will sound much better. Also in this 'leaked' one you can tell isn't at its best quality.
Overall, I find it hard to determine what I feel to this song. It is possible that I just have to get used to it. Overall, a really cool song, the standard ballad of Linkin Park - reminds me Irdescent or Burning In The Skies. The melody is catchy again (reminds me a bit of Green Day), drums are great. Overall, I feel that The Hunting Party is another Meteora. A lot of good songs, but do not have a favorite - all at a similar level. I'm a bit nervous, I prefer a situation where I have some favorite songs from the album. We'll see how it is going with the full...
