Hell, I'll go a step further and say some of Linkin Parks best stuff is fullblown pop. Breaking the Habit? Poppy as fuck. Also essentially perfect. Waiting for the End? Pop song. Also great.
so far theres nothing impressive in terms of heaviness. we got 2 ballads wastelands is pop/rock and sounds alot like meteora and living things. Rebellion is instrumentally heavy but the vocals and melody are anything but heavy(despite the bridge) GATS is heavy but it theres many LP songs heavier than it, intrumentals are pretty cheap and demo-like. vocals are meh and not really heavy.
What a pleasantly nice surprise this song is.. Also Rob's drumming at the end he's having so much fun with this record.
Keys to the Kingdom All for Nothing War A Line in the Sand +10 on the "Visceral" scale... just wait till the album drops.
I wish LP's guitars weren't always dundundundundundundundun sounding. I wish it was more intricate and melodic. Something like Animals by Muse. We'd have to keep praying for Brad for something like that though.
There are moments where you could pick out "Muse-esq" like guitar work. Brad and Rob really stand out on THP
Not that it's a big deal or anything, but does it seem like a lot of Linkin Park's lyrics since New Divide have made mention of skies? Several tracks in ATS and LIVING THINGS include skies splitting, opening, turning gray, having fire in them...just seems a little redundant. Surely there's got to be a creative way to synonymize that ominous, atmospheric feeling without using the same words over and over again...right? I know it's picky and not official that FM follows the same pattern, but it's a little bit of a baffler for me. I haven't listened to the leak yet, and I haven't listened to Rebellion either since I capped my pre-album listen to three tracks, but if it's on par with what people are saying this record is going to be really interesting.
you listened to it? i dont think i will be that impressed, i dont care about how heavy the album is, as long as i like the songs. but the band said it is visceral and blablabla and we got half the album and its far from visceral according to the reviews only war and KTTK are heavy all the way. and KTTK and AFN are rap/rock and IMO rap really "takes the heaviness out" in a way
its such a soothing song no where near #visceral edit: Final masquerade>rebellion>GATS>UIG>wastelands just realized how amazing this song is
The anticipation is killing me, but I have decided not to listen to Final Masquerade. I don't want to spoil anymore than I already have (have already listened to GATS, UIG, Wastelands, and Rebellion).
i'm dissapointed with myself, i wish i hadnt listened to half the album already, but i'm weak, and i listened. and reading the reviews also sucks, it would be much better if i had no idea of what to expect from the rest of the tracks
