1. Lost in the Echo 2. Given Up 3. Papercut 4. The Requiem (BITS doesnt count IMO) 5. Don't Stay 6. Keys to the Kingdom
Papercut Wake/Given Up The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning in the Skies Keys to the Kingdom Foreword/Don't Stay Lost in the Echo
Keys to the motherfreaking Kingdom Lost in the Echo Papercut Wake/Given Up The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning in the Skies Foreword/Don't Stay This band knows how to make KILLER album openers. I would consider everything but Foreword/Don't Stay to be in the elite class of their discography. Even then I can't think of a better song to open Meteora.
The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning in the Skies Papercut Keys to the Kingdom Wake/Given Up Foreword/Don't Stay Lost in the Echo
i. the radiance - this truly sets the tone for album: it's different, and it's amazing. ii. wake - much like above, this opener sets the scene for something new. iii. papercut - really sets pace for Linkin Park for the next 7 years. iv. lost in the echo - really vies from both side of the band in this opener. v. keys to the kingdom - there is a bit to like and dislike in this one, so it's not as strong. vi. foreword+don't stay - kicking up where Hybrid Theory left off, nothing special here.
1.The Requiem/The Radiance/ Burning In The Skies 2.Keys to the kingdom 3.Wake/Given up (It will be rank #1 or #2 if not for given up...) 4.Papercut 5.Lost in the echo 6.Foreword/ Don't stay
As others have said, Linkin Park has always been fantastic at opening an album. 1. Papercut - Probably the best track on the album too. 2. Lost In The Echo - Comes extremely close, one of the best LP songs ever made 3. Wake/Given Up - A nice duo 4. Foreward/Don't Stay - Very good 5. The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning In The Skies - Pretty creative but there is no need for two intros 6. Keys To The Kingdom - I like it. Just isn't as good as the others
6) Foreword - cool aggressive and full of angst (should have been one track with don't stay though) 5) Papercut - classic song, one of LP's best, yet intro wise it isn't my favourite openers. 4) Lost in the Echo - gorgeous sounding intro snyth. Huge sound. 3) Keys to the Kingdom - tops LITE easily in sheer power and sound 2) Wake - still one of my favourite intros/instrumentals. The way it builds to an epic jam. The whole band on top form. 1) The Requiem - I never thought they could top "wake" but along came this... An atmospheric moody piece of pure ominous foreboding. Killer synths, vocals, and beats. Perfect to listen to driving or walking home at night. I doubt LP will ever top this.
1. Keys to the Kingdom (You instantly know what you're in for) 2. The Requiem/The Radiance/Burning in the Skies (Because it ties the beginning to the end) 3. Opening/Pts.OF.Athrty (Same reason as above) 4. Papercut (It's just an awesome song) 5. Wake/Given Up (Wake sets the mood and Given Up breaks the ice) 6. Foreword/Don't Stay (Kind of meh to start the album the same way Papercut did, but then again Meteora is more Hybrid Theory Pt. 2 than Reanimation is) 7. Lost in the Echo (Not much thought has been put into this as an album opener, also he says C-flat)
1. Keys To The Kingdom 2. The Requiem 3. Wake 4. Foreward / Don't Stay 5. Lost In The Echo 6. Papercut
1. Keys To The Kingdom 2. The Requiem 3. Wake 4. Papercut 5. Lost In The Echo 6. Foreward / Don't Stay
1. Lost in the Echo. I hate using this expression, but the song literally gave me chills the first time I heard Living Things. The synth, the rapping, the screaming all blended fucking perfectly, and even though nothing else on the album lived up to it, goddamn did that get me excited. Maybe opening with a massive hit like that and not being able to follow it with anything as good isn't always the best plan, but no first song got me more psyched to hear the rest of the album that LitE did. The winner by far. 2. Papercut. Just super solid, a good indication of what was to follow and a highlight all on its own. Very good. 3. Giving Up 4. Keys to the Kingdom. Not my favorite song, but a really good way to introduce a harder, more aggressive album. The song doesn't fuck around. 5. Don't Stay 6. Burning in the Skies. C"mere Park what the fuck, how are you gonna open an album with 2 intros, then a ballad.
Keys to the Kingdom is the best one, for me, followed by Foreword/Don't Stay, Papercut, Wake/Given Up, and then Requiem/Radiance/Burning.
