It's short but sweet. Not many people find use for this track, but I read a theory that this track is made up from a bunch of their songs from past albums. Does that hold any weight? What does everyone else think of that theory? I swear I heard "Foreword" from Meteora being said in this short interlude track.
I might've heard Breaking the Habit piano, Castle of Glass intro, and the beginning of The Radiance. I might just be hearing what I want to hear though. That theory would make The Summoning more meaningful and special.
If there are samples of other songs in there, I haven't picked up on any of them. Normally I go out of my way to look for stuff like that too.
"Oh, watch the ball...NICE! Run run run RUN!" But yeah, it's a good interlude track, definitely represents a garage band setting up in some sense.
Sounds like a cavalcade of snippets from demos and tracks that had potential but were ultimately trashed. I particularly love that little snippet at the end of All For Nothing. More of that dark ambient/waltz please!
Made from older tracks? Havent thought about that. BUT i was thinking that some sounds in there reminded me of one of the new songs from "mall" ost. The one with chester screming in, it has the same kind of sounds in the intro like the summoning. Hard to explain what sounds i mean but its some kind of synth-like toy- horror style of sounds. Dont know if that made sense but i promise if you listen listen and compare them. They have the exakt same sounds in the beginnings. But with different melody. I dont really believe it but maybe tHe summoning was a intro tho that song The sounds im talking about starts at 14-15 sec into the summoning.
This! I don't know why the rest of the album couldn't have more of that style. It has this sense of dark whimsy to it that I haven't heard in any LP song before.
That's what I thought when I heared Opening Credits Song. IMO They should put Opening Credits Song on THP in place where War is. It would work better. Also I think that if The Summoning was made from older tracks, Mike would menetion it. I can't hear anything.
I don't hear SHIT, the only thing I might say is similar is the 1-second strums which are like Guilty All The Same's
