Tell ya what I wish it would be: the album Mike threw out before writing The Hunting Party.

This double album thing would be awesome. It could contain the softer Indie tracks they were making before THP; The Gathering Party as lordblood put it.
Realistically, were probably just getting a new release (OST, EP, etc) not a new studio album.

So, what if LP eventually did a collaboration with Stone Temple Pilots?

It'd fit the whole heavy motif they're going with now. This probably isn't it, though. Just a thought I'm throwing out there. I'm actually surprised they didn't contribute anything to THP. Seems like it'd be the obvious collaboration.

I wasn't saying that this was what was coming. Just that I feel a collaboration, even if it's one track, would come inevitably. ;) Edited my post to make it clear.

I don't think we'll ever see a full on LP/STP collaboration, but if Dean did some guitar work for an LPU song or for a future album, that would be pretty nice.

The idea of one band "collaborating" with another band is super-unappealing to me.

A guitarist from another band playing on a Linkin Park song, on the other hand, is a great idea both in theory and in practice; it has already been proven to work.

How the hell can you misquote someone saying "We talked about how he is planning on launching a new album in a few weeks on social nets."

    What an idiot.

To be fair, those events are typically loud. Perhaps Mike said that they recently launched an album via social media a few weeks ago and the person heard "new album, few weeks, social media" and let his imagination fly
