A new LPTV episode has been uploaded to the official Linkin Park YouTube channel. The episode details the start of the European festival run earlier this summer. It also puts heavy focus on the back injury Brad had sustained, which caused him to not be so active during the show and the ones to follow. It is shown in the episode that Mike was teaching Brad's new guitar tech Ben the parts of the songs just hours before the show was set to start; at that specific show, it was Ben's second show with the band. Check it out below. What are your thoughts on the episode? Did you know that Brad had sustained an injury? Come and discuss it in our forums. Source: Linkin Park YouTube via Faker and Anonymous Person
Was that the same show where Brad sat down while playing the solo to WID? First thing that came to mind. And it's nice to see that Rob was so enthusiastic about the album and talking about how everyone had grown on it.
Love this quote: "If everything was always smooth and perfect, you'd get used to that. You have to have a little bit of disorganization now and then, otherwise, you'll never really know when things go right."
I'm pretty sure that Brad's former tech Sean Paden would play lead guitar parts with his eyes closed. Ben is new to the band, so it's doubtful that he would get through Brad's parts that easily at this point. BTW, does anybody know what happened to Sean ? Will he no longer work with Brad ? I kinda miss him.
Sean's not working with LP anymore and from what he's told me, he may be retiring from being a touring guitar tech altogether.
I didn't realize how bad Brad's back injuries were and how close they were to using Ben. That sucks to hear. I hope he is all healed now. I wonder if we're going to get more footage with the band discussing the album throughout the tour LPTV episodes. I liked this episode and how it was set out. I'm looking forward to seeing some more.
I understand about Brad and his back injury. My back once was like his, I had to be pushed to get out of my car cause I couldn't do it myself. He was leaning against the wall but I"m sure Brad wish he could have lay down on the stage to play.
