I think religion can be misused to support indefensible acts of violence, like any other ideology. Communism did to Soviet Russia what Islamic Fundamentalism is doing to the Middle-East today.
Ok, Let me ask (not even in a sarcastic manner, I'm genuinely curious), What are they fighting over? Because I thought it was "holy" land.
Not sure about the whole thing either, an issue of whether the Gaza belongs to Israel or Palestine (There's that other issue of whether Palestine should even be recognized as a state).
Israeli zionists believe that Israel/Palestine belongs to them so they've been killing the muslims and christians in the Gaza to prove their point. Hamas is a "muslim" group that is taking revenge
It's absolutely fucking appalling that no government or the UN is doing a single thing about the massacre that's going on in Gaza. Everyday the Israelis are killing Palestinian civilians, esp women and CHILDREN! This isn't war, it's cold blooded murder.
So I was right? This straight up holy war. Thank God religion! Otherwise we might all be just be a bunch of apes throwing rocks at each other!
Not a huge supporter of Israel, but I don't think they are just killing civilians for the sake of it. Hamas constantly uses civilian homes to launch rockets at Israel, when Israeli soldiers sent leaflets to warn civilians in Gaza, Hamas prevented them from leaving. They keep sabotaging all the cease-fires and peace-talk. They are simply out for blood.
Launch what rockets at Israel? Hamas doesn't have shit in the way of weaponry compared to Israel. Just compare the death tolls of the last 2 weeks.
They may not be as militarily advanced as Israel, but that doesn't mean they cannot inflict lasting damage. Iraq and Vietnam are cases where "inferior" forces have managed to inflict terrible casualties on "superior" forces. Plus there's that moral pet-peeve of using civilians as human shields to discourage the Israelis from attacking or to make sure civilian casualties result from an attack in order to give them the "moral high ground".
It's weird how you choose to focus on your moral pet peeve when one child has been killed in Gaza every hour for the past 2 days... plus countless other civilians. Israel is plain and simple out for blood, they are the once with the big weapons, not Palestine. They are the ones shooting down civilians like birds. Oh and if you think this is the same as Vietnam and Iraq and that Palestine is capable of causing the same level of bloodshed as Isreal then please take a look at this graph showing the number of Palestinian and Israeli deaths since 2000.
Ah, loving the ignorance in here. I'ma just leave these here: http://www.memri.org/report/en/0/0/0/0/0/0/8076.htma http://m.washingtonpost.com/opinion...dabe0c-0de4-11e4-8c9a-923ecc0c7d23_story.html http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mitchell-bard/video-reveals-that-a-lack_b_156565.html http://time.com/2982215/israel-gaza-casualties/ And as a small nugget, Israel has not been in Gaza for almost a decade now. So no, they are not occupying Gaza or trying to reclaim it.
http://www.ndtv.com/article/world/u...s-council-resolution-on-gaza-full-text-564074 U.S. were the only ones to vote against UNHCR investigation. At the very same moment they blame Russia for preventing investigation in Ukraine.
UN Human Rights Council votes to open inquiry into alleged war crimes in Gaza; US votes no. The resolution establishes a Commission of Inquiry into human rights violations in the Occupied Palestinian Territory, demands that Israel ceases its military assaults and lifts the blockade of Gaza. UN: Israel assault in Gaza may be war crime Israel's military actions in the Gaza Strip could amount to war crimes, UN rights chief Navi Pillay has said, as Israel continued pounding Gaza for a 16th day. Pillay on Wednesday also condemned indiscriminate rocket attacks by Hamas fighters. "There seems to be a strong possibility that international law has been violated, in a manner that could amount to war crimes," Pillay told an emergency session on Gaza at the UN Human Rights Council. http://www.aljazeera.com/news/2014/...gaza-may-be-war-crime-201472394058635836.html
