Eminem is my favorite music artist of all time. I am on many Eminem forums. I also love LP. So cus of that, I just want to know. What do you guys (Linkin Park fans) think of Eminem?
I am no that much into his stuff, but i like the songs i know. Lose Yourself Not Afraid We Made You Like Toy Soldiers Rap God Stan I believe he is (one of the) best rappers alive.
Eh. If you only know those songs then you probably don't know much about Rap and then don't say that lol. I think he is too but I know all his stuff. Some songs you might like are Rhyme or Reason, Say Goodbye Hollywood, Sing For The Moment. These are all great. If I were you. Listen to Marshall Mathers LP1, Marshal Mathers LP2, and The Eminem Show. If you like those listen to Slim Shady LP.
I hate him, although funnily enough, I didn't developed a hatred for him until after everybody started getting the fucking fangirl all over the place over the idea of an Eminem/LP collaboration. Seriously, worst fucking idea ever...
I'm a fan of the guy, and own a couple of his albums, but I wouldn't call myself a hardcore fan. Some of my favs by him: Kill You Beautiful Lose Yourself Headlights The Real Slim Shady Without You 'Till I Collapse Cleaning Out My Closet Space Bound Ass Like That (Tried to cover all his albums)
That's uh....sort of an idea people have been bringing up since about 2002. You've hated him for over a decade because of that?
Lol ok, maybe not that long. I was even a fan of his goofier shit for a minute. Idk, maybe sometime after ATS though, he started getting annoying.
Didn't we have a thread of MMLP2? And didn't half of the guys here dislike it? Anyway, I respect the guy. Dude grew up.
I'm a fan of his early contemplative and concept driven songs. Plus some of his flow patterns are absolutely insane, even now. That deserves praise. Other than that, I don't really go gaga over his shock rap and overly animated violence in his lyrics. A lot of times he just rhymes for the sake of rhyming without any thought to what he's actually saying. That's just stupid. I don't think he has any classic album(s). And as off late (Recovery/MMLP2) his songs have been pretty cringeworthy to listen to imo.
I used to adore him until after MMLP2. And I loved that album. And then one day it just hit me... I have absolutely no interest in listening to this guy speak anymore. So that's kinda where I quit rap altogether, with a few exceptions (my lord and saviour Yeezus). So it's not that I stopped liking Eminem, I just stopped liking rap that much. I haven't heard anything from him beside The Monster and Headlights in months.
The Marshall Mathers LP is a classic album and that really isn't a point that can be contested whether or not you like him.
I think Stan is a really good song, but other than that I don't really like the dude. Also, I don't see how he grew up. His last few albums are pretty much Meteora thematically - I swear he's just channeling angry teenager Linkin Park left behind in 2004. At this point, he's just an angsty 14 year old boy in a 40 year old man's body. And also the majority of Eminem instrumentals are just so...bland. He still shows he's a pretty decent lyricist every now and then though but shit like "I guess that's why they call it window pane" and the chorus of Not Afraid just make me cringe. I wholeheartedly agree (especially the bolded bit).
I like when he actually paints a picture/has understandable lyrics. Some songs I really just get. Others I don't care what he is saying. My Favorite Eminem Songs: Mockingbird The Real Slim Shady Like Toy Soldiers Lose Yourself Till I Collapse When I'm Gone
Not really an Eminem fan, but I do like the guy. I do own "Encore" and "Recovery" though, since my brother's more of a fan than I am. Favorite Em songs Like Toy Soldiers (my favorite song from the guy) Beautiful Cinderella Man When I'm Gone Headlights Berzerk Just Lose It
