I'll keep it short and sweet. Hive was in closed beta a few months ago and went into open beta this morning at 8 AM CST. It is what it is - free, unlimited cloud storage. Think MediaFire or MEGA without the file size restrictions and all that. Plus, you can lock folders and content to specific people. Right now the web app is in open beta, and if you manage to get 100 friends in your Hive within the beta period, you get premium for life. Premium entails no ads and HD streaming - right now, those features are free anyway. So, if unlimited cloud storage that doesn't cost a dime is something that interests you, it'd be awesome if you signed up and became my friend. You can do that all in one step by clicking https://beta.hive.im/join/2303/ and we'll automatically be friends when you sign up
This thing with links doesn't work, though. Every time you click on one, you have to log in again. And the only way to add friends is through social networks? How does this work?
Haha, I wish, it looks so promising! I actually heard about it after the closed beta ended and followed them on Twitter since to get news on this open beta. Guys, e-mails are working again according to a tweet back I got from Hive, so get verified - I don't know if the 100 thing counts unless they're all verified, and I currently only have 6 out of 14 verified! Also, once you're signed up, the link things don't really look like they work, so if you guys can start putting your listed names down to help us all search to add you, that'd be awesome!
I signed up for the hell of it really. I normally wouldn't save any sensitive data on a cloud server, no matter how much space they give me. And the "unlimited cloud storage" seem like a marketing speak.
https://beta.hive.im/join/17978/ Pls? I won't press the panic button if you do. Or I will. See what happens?
