One thing I like from LPA: The diversity...Like band like fan, huh?(not really )....People here have A LOT of different interests and opinions, and the best part, little to no serious friction is involved when somebody talk about it (except when those aforementioned close-minded people gets in the fray)...I like the maturity of the people here when it comes to stating their opinions about LP,instead of just blatantly praising whatever LP've done like a bunch of blindfolded worshippers... LP is my favorite band, but I don't feel like I have an urge to defend them when somebody says they don't like LP's stuffs or whatever
Three years ago I thought LP would always be my absolute number 1. It's surprinsing how this has changed so rapidly.
Who even said you HAVE to be a hardcore fan of something just to join there forum. It isn't one of the forum rule. Hell, you could be here even if you liked ONE song, or something Mike said in an interview. Or perhaps not at all, it's a good community never the less. Personally LP is my most favorite band ever exsisted. and it was 13 years ago too.
Well, there's this blog post from mid-2011: Looking from the outside in, which is all that some of us can do, it seems as if LPU members aren't really getting as much as they used to for their dollars, even as the price has never (to my knowledge) gone down over the years. So what Shinoda says there is a little bit ironic now Anyway, this is probably the more relevant part for us right now:
In a recent (May or June I think) interview, Mike said something about a lot of people listening to their music on youtube. The interviewer asked something about album sales or concerts I think and Mike started rambling like usual and said something about anyone who likes one of their songs could be a fan. Although, I could be making this up but I think I remember this interview because this was a nice interview in a sea of shitty interviews where he said the same thing over and over again. Sorry Mike
I am now a half year here and its damn amazing. Linkin Park is since the Start oft my music taste (2009) my favorite Band, also if i know hat there are much "Bettler" Bands out there. To me its important to have respect for their work. Thats for me a point which make so eine a fan. You dont have to like the work, but atleast respect it. All the people here in LPA have different tastes, but hat makes the things just much cooler. For me i habe the most of the time fun if i am here , especially here in the shoutbox. All the people with the different tastes make the site more multicultural and funnier. And thats a point i would say thank you. Just for the cool time wie er atleast me habe Heer in the LPA.
Your auto-correction seems to turn English words into German words. I liked the Bettler Bands in particular.
The biggest competition that LP had for being my favorite band in the past were Green Day and Muse. I've also seen both of those bands live so that weighs in too. Right now, Nine Inch Nails is the other biggest band I'm listening to, but LP is the only band where I check their fan sites religiously. I really like Weezer, but I wasn't all over their album news this past month as I was for The Hunting Party.
08. Respect Other People's Musical Tastes People's musical tastes vary, so don't hate on someone for liking a band which you dislike. People make threads about bands in "Other Bands" so they can have other fans comment on his/her band that they like. They don't wish for someone to come in and start bashing the band on how much it "sucks". You may not like the band, but someone else may, so try to respect that. Please read this.
