Dude this song is sick! Great aggressive riff there and those screamy vocals are awesome! Where can I find more music with these kinds of guitar riffs and vocal aggression? Back on topic: I think Victimized is the closest thing to this LP has done, but I wouldn't take Chester for the type to scream throughout a whole song (including both verses and chorus), plus let's not forget his voice has been strained over the years. Like Robert mentioned previously, I would like them to experiment and and give us something new and refreshing, something we won't expect. ATS was one such album, but I'm not advocating for them to make another record like it necessarily.
I don't want the band to do another heavy or punkish album. War is already the worst thing they've ever done...
Preferably Dubstep. I miss the old LP that made ALTNC. Now, THP was just heavy shit. EDIT: Even Brad and Mike acknowledge it. :doublekappa:
No, fuck a folk album. Not that I dislike the genre, just that I dislike LP take on it... at least so far. I couldn´t disagree more.
War's lyrics are weak and uninspired. Chester just screams throughout the entire song just for the hell of screaming, and his voice sounds awful on the song. The repeating guitar riff was just lazily done, and the guitar solo is one of my least favorites on the album. The entire song seems so lazy like it was just thrown together.
That's how punk is,afaik.... And I saw a non-fan commented on Youtube,he said it's kinda good that LP can pull it off
War´s lyrics do fit the punk style. Chester screams throughout the entire song, which is something he had never done before and which once again fit the abrasive approach, and his voice sounds fucking rock'n' roll on the song. The repeating guitar riff is totally appropriated for a 2min track (and is amazingly catchy btw), and the guitar solo is one of my favorite on the album. The entire song just seems in-your-face, like it was just thrown together, because that´s what punk is all about. No curve, no overthinking, just straight to the point.
If you want something a little more poetic/melodic I would try listening to some of the "wave" bands like La Dispute and Touchè Amore.
Couldn't agree more with this point. I also was not very fond of the lyrics at first but overtime I saw how they really fit the song and do well to drive the message forward. War is probably the least typical song for a band like LP.
