    Love "Blanka" and "Rhinocerous"

Anyone know when we're going to get the LPU membership codes from the Johnny Cupcakes T-shirt thing? my current LPU membership is about to expire, want to renew before that so I don't lose all my points.

Thank you! It's like listening to an alternate version of Basquiat.

Yes. I've now starred in two LP Youtube videos. Pretty sure that's more than even the admins. Give me a page on the LPA Wiki, please.

    Ok, let's do this

    1. Aubrey One - 2009
Maybe my favorite out of the entire thing. I love how the tension builds through the entire song, I like the chord progression, I like the payoff. Nice one!

    2. Malathion + Tritonus - 2008
Well, I didn't expect that at all, especially considering the era it's from. Very raw, very metal-esque, which I like, but unfortunately also very repetitive. The drums are pretty meh, but I won't blame them for that since it's a demo. That punk ending was a fucking beast though!

    3. Berlin One - 2009
Cool.... but gets boring after 20 sec. Again, the ending shows some variation in the song sound, which is welcome.

    4. Blanka - 2008
Now that is some bangers. Wow. Again, I'm surprised to see this was created in 2008. The quality is really raw, the composition is overly simple, but with some more work this could have turned into a great song!

    5. Heartburn - 2007
Kinda similar to some of the other MTM instrumental demos. The drums/percussion in this one are a stand out. Nothing special otherwise

    6. BTH Mike Vocals
Ouch.... It must take courage to release this. Mike vocals are....well....hum... not so good Ahah

    7. Dave Sbeat ft. Joe - 2009
    The fuck?

    8. Froctagon - 2009
In the same vein as the other 2 heavy ATS demos (if we can really call them ATS demos), extremely heavy, raw, and simple. The bass verses are reminescent of Given Up, and the bridge is a monster. Nothing outstanding honestly, but nevertheless interesting to discover LP had such a garage band phase in 2008/2009.

    9. Rhinocerous - 2002
Another favorite of mine. Eerie verses, classic old-LP drums and samples, big dramatic powerchords in the chorus, heavy bridge. In other words, the basics, but I can't help it, I love the Meteora sound and vibe.

    10. After Canada - 2005
I like the powerchord progression in this one. It sounds different somehow, more slow and smooth. The verses are also pretty nice, they have a cool chill out vibe with piano and stuff. Again, the track is nothing special, but still enjoyable.

Overall, I like this LPU. I'd say there are no great tracks on it, but at this point, I'm not even looking at LPU CDs for great music. I prefer to consider them as an exclusive insight into the band creative process, and evolution through the years. For instance, without them, who would have imagined LP had a kinda grunge phase in 1998/1999, and a heavy phase in 2008? So I'm very thankfull, once again, for this new edition! :)

I really appreciate the Breaking the Habit demo. It really gives you an idea of how drastically a song can change when being written.

Look, better-looking art than the actual album art! The term "Keep It Simple Stupid" comes to mind.

The music is okay, I guess. I think Heartburn stands out the most to me.

The best way to describe the Breaking the Habit demo would be Mike singing Chester's parts (same notes, different lyrics) in an almost comically high-pitched manner. I could almost picture him doing this as a joke in the studio, but either way, props to him for releasing it. He busts out into a very high falsetto during the chorus. He obviously hadn't learned how to control his volume or at least try and belt the song. It's because it's so high; he could sing deeper songs fine (I thought "So Far Away" was decent)

I officially believe me and Mike have the same or similar vocal ranges because my falsetto is almost the same as his. Usually when I sing Chester's parts I have to belt it.

I just think that BTH win above all for it's meaning in the Linkin Park's history. I mean that even if the vocals are awful that it's the song that Mike give to his friend Chester for saving him and i really appreciate Mike's effort . There are other good songs but BTH it's the best for his power. Without that song , it would be a really different band now....anyway, this is only my opinion :):peace:

i'm really disappointed with this because some of this song should have had vocals in them like Aubrey One or Malathion + Tritonus.i don't know why they don't work on their unfinished songs and try to add suitable vocals in them.some of this songs really had some good potentials to become studio album tracks.

Who thought LP did this in 2008/09? Ridiculous. Ridiculously awesome.
