The soundtrack for Joe Hahn's directorial debut "Mall" has suddenly become available for digital purchase on the Australian iTunes Store and New Zealand's one too. The album consists entirely of original music by Linkin Park band members Mike Shinoda, Chester Bennington, Phoenix and Hahn himself, alongside Deadsy's Alec Puro. "Mall: Music From The Motion Picture" contains 23 tracks in total, and among them are "White Noise", which previously was made available for free download, and "It Goes Through", which we first heard an excerpt of in the first trailer. So far, there are no indications of when the soundtrack album might become available for purchase in any other regions, and nothing has been said about the soundtrack on any of the band's official online channels. Darn you Australians Very psyched. The track renames are interesting, since the previous names for the songs were published in the credits of the movie, weren't they? Either way, the new titles make sense since the old ones were working titles with little relevance to the song. Edit: Had a listen to the previews on iTunes... And instantly, this beats LPU XIV for me, no doubt.
Anyone else underwhelmed by It Goes Through? Feels very short and I'm not liking the second verse at all Edit: Delivery on The Last Line sucks now. I'll stick to The Hunting Party. Thanks.
I went to the LA screening of Mall with Joe on Tuesday night. He said of a release date for the soundtrack, "Hopefully by Christmas," and referenced a film/soundtrack bundle that they were planning to do. He also said he had just approved some artwork for the CD. I'm sure we'll get it soon, and this appears to be a strong indication of that.
I know Edit: Halfassed this mix. Removed the second verse and added the version from the film with no drum loop. https://soundcloud.com/brandon-roman-4/luna-it-goes-through-albumdemo-mix

It Goes Through is a lot more EDMish than I had expected. It's kind of old already. Devil's drop is awesome!! I wish they had gone for a cleaner guitar sound and not that low-quality recording sound, similar to Three Band Terror
Does Devil's Drop sound different to anyone else? Seems in the film version Mike' singing in a bit of a higher key? And in the second verse his harmonies were louder.
The film version of all the songs with lyrics are a bit higher from what I can hear. There is also definitely some changes in the mixing of the tracks. It Goes Through and Last Line are also completely different vocal takes if I'm not mistaken.
The tracks that were ripped and uploaded to youtube that are currently circulating on the web were all pitched up to avoid copyright, but watching the film in its original state, all the songs are at the same pitch as what you hear on the MALL soundtrack.
I'm not talking about any clips that were uploaded to Youtube... Regardless, the instrumentation of the track in the final version retains the same pitch, so no, a pitch up is not what I'm referring to.
Astat, you gotta tab out Devil's Drop! I really dig Devil's Drop and The Last Line, they're honestly what I was hoping for long before we got wind of the heavyness that was to be THP. I wish they were longer and more fleshed out, my only complaints is that they're a little too simple instrumentally. Another layer of guitar, an interesting bridge, or some cool, light sounds from Hahn would just take it to another level.
Hmmmm, I've really been looking forward to "It Goes Through" ever since it was first teased. While I still like the final version, I'm definitely not liking it as much as the version shown in the trailer. However, I still really like the other tracks that contain vocals. I'll check out the instrumentals later. Overall, I'm really happy with this. EDIT: Yeah, nvm. I'm really loving "It Goes Through" now. I just had to get a new feel for this version, it's pretty damn good. Awesome OST.
I noticed that as well. It goes Through didn't seem like they added alot from the preview. But viewing it as a score for a movie it is absolutely amazing.
