Death Cab for Cutie – Kintsugi

It was released legally so I'll hit the listen button

 

Not sure how I feel about the album yet. Honestly, I'm getting the impression that it's more inconsistent than any previous Death Cab album. Still, I've only heard it twice and I shall reserve my judgement until I'm better familiar with it.

 

I would say this is more consistent than their previous effort

 

I agree but I don't find it better.

I listened. I listened again. And again.

It's just kind of a boring, laid back album. It was kind of like the massive drop in energy Coldplay had going from Xylo to Ghost Stories.

None of it is particularly bad, it just doesn't move me. And this is the first DCFC effort that I can say that of. I replay the song that were released prior and sometimes Everything's a Ceiling.

 

I agree, it doesn't move me either. At least most of the songs don't. A pity.
