    Righto.

The premise of this thread is to create a catalogue of remixes of Linkin Park songs. Problem is, there are of course trillions of remixes out there, so I've decided to significantly crop this number by only including those that adhere to at least ONE of the following criteria:

    1. The remix is official. I.e. It has appeared on an official release by Linkin Park or on some other commercially or officially released collection, on an album, EP, or Single.

    2. The remix is by a Linkin Park band member (I am unaware of any such remixes that aren't also official, but I haven't really done my research, so they may be out there).

3.* The remix has appeared on an "official" LP Association release (such as Reliving Things, Viscera, or some other collection of remixes I am unaware of (being new and all)).

4.* The remix is by an artist who has contributed to a remix on an "official" LP Association release. (Confetti Parade, DirtyBlup, Xefuzion, Decay, m_macdonald, CΔsper White, Shurpi, Simple Automaton, Lizzi Cloverman, minuteforce, Glen Orpheus, zwieR.Z., Cypher, Broman, RostaSliwka, MKH, and wEEKnIGHT pSYCHOPATH are the ones I'm aware of.)

*Unofficial remixes are in blue to distinguish them from official remixes, which are in yellow.

Currently in the list are only the remix I presently posses. My request to you is to inform me of any other remixes that fall into one or more of the categories above, that you are aware of. I intend to update the list regularly.

(The secret objective of this list is to gather remixes of as many LP songs as possible, with the ulterior motive of creating remix collections for each album, as well as the non-album songs, in the form of a couple of "custom albums".)

That's nice but also really pointless.

Just to clarity, being counted an "official" LPA release just mean it's been shown on the front page or something?

Anyway, I don't personally see much point in listing official and unofficial works together but it's your thread. :)

    lol so many BID remixes.
I didn't know Mike did a LOATR remix, that's cool. I'm surprised how few Meteora remixes there are. I'm still bummed that they did the EDM remix thing with Living Things. They should have waited and done it for THP, so it would feel more contrasting and unique to the original album (and the heavy remixes off Recharged are my fav).

"Collision Course" is really a remix EP -- every track samples something -- so that should count, just IMO.

@minuteforce: "Official" is kind of a loosely defined term. Anything from "appears on an official commercial release" to "is acknowledged by Wikipedia" counts. xP Generally I define an official remix as one that has appeared on one of the band's albums, EP's, singles, or such, or was released on their website.

    Right, I'll add Collision Course.

There is a point to this: collecting a digestible amount of remix tracks. Also, I'm trying to collect remixes to as many LP songs as I can, just for a personal project of mine. So really, there is actually no objective practical point to doing this at all. It's just something I wanna do. :p

I'll partition official and fan-made remixes.

(minuteforce, I almost just freaked out when I realised you're minuteforce. I only know you for your remixes (and only those for "I'll Be Gone", "The Summoning", and "A Line in the Sand"). Your iteration of ALitS on Viscera especially blew me to pieces. It is an incredible work of art. Just saying. ^-^ )

Ah, yes. I forgot about 8BR.

In the realm of fan-made/unofficial remixes, anyone know of remix artists associated with LPA that have produced "albums" of Linkin Park remixes (the way that, for example, zwieR.Z. does)? (Cypher and minuteforce, I'm entertaining the possibility that the two of you may have such collections. :p )

Off the top of my head, Keaton made "8-Bit Theory" in 2010, which, like the "8-Bit Rebellion" soundtrack, is more like a set of covers rather than remixes, really ... and Decay made a rmx album called "LIFE" a few years back that I don't think is still available anywhere

This is pretty cool, I don't really know much about LP remixes because I'm pretty new here and I'm sure I wanted something like this to refer to when I was trying to listen to fan remixes sometime in the past months. :)

Wretches and Kings also have a remix version by Get Busy Committee and Divine Styler, which have some different lyrics by Mike in first verse :)
It's on CD 2 from "It's the Bootleg, Muthafuckas! Volume 3: Fire Walk with Me" by Apathy, labelled as "Wretches (Remix)".

^ Yes. Other official or at least semi-official stuff also missing:

    • HavocNdeeD did a "Wretches" rmx too, which there were two different edits of, one with a guest verse by Chuck D and one without.
    • "Waiting For The End" was remixed by Alex from The Kickdrums and there's also a reworking by J Lynnwood & Dave Dresden, which there are at least four edits of
    • a couple of songs appeared in "DJ Hero" titles too -- I don't know who did the "Pts.Of.Athrty" rmx, but I know that Diplo did the remix of "When They Come For Me"
    • there are a couple of pre-"Reanimation" versions of Humble Brothers' remix of "One Step Closer". One appeared on "Frat Party", another surfaced on a promo CD soon after (or right before, I don't know) and they both resurfaced on an obscure "Reanimation" 8-track promo that LPLive released some years ago which also contains early versions of "Crawling", "Forgotten", "In The End", "Points", "High Voltage" and "Papercut" reworkings for "Reanimation". Separately, an early version of Zion I's "A Place For My Head" remix surfaced before that, also via LPLive.
    • there are different edits of particular "Reanimation" tracks too - a radio edit of "Pts.", instrumental cuts of "H! Vltg3", "FRGT/10" and "Enth E ND", plus an acappella mix of "H! Vltg3".
    • "Nobody's Listening" was reworked for the Fort Minor mixtape "Fort Minor: We Major" in 2005. In addition to the edit on the mixtape, three or four edits of that remix were put out on a vinyl EP in 2006. I don't think anyone has heard them 'cause no-one owns that vinyl.
    • instrumental and acappella mixes for "Numb/Encore" were released as part of that song's single release, and there are censored versions of all the "Collision Course" tracks for the EP's clean edition.
    • Money Mark delivered two different mixes for "Breaks" -- one was part of "Living Things: Remixed" and the second was released on "Recharged".
    • and, if you wanna count it, there's an instrumental edition of "VISCERA" available too.

Look it all up if you want ...

Also, "High Voltage" isn't actually a remix. It's a finished studio version that was recorded for Linkin Park's debut album, a refined version of the demo which appeared on the "Hybrid Theory" EP. It's the same thing as, say, "A Place For My Head" is to "Esaul".

Thanks a tonne, guys. I'll check everything out (when time allows) and update the list accordingly. :)

@minute: I'm not particularly inclined towards adding various versions of the same remix to the list, just distinct mixed.

Regarding High Voltage, I consider the 2000 version a remix because I've often seen it titled "High Voltage (remix)", and because I don't consider Hybrid Theory EP to be a collection of demos, but rather a mini-album of complete songs.
