I know he's done it before but it feels strange hearing Shinoda sing over a major progression

I refuse to believe that all this effort behind site redesign, rebreanding FM and social media shake-up were done solely to promote the release of one song. There has to be a new project around the corner.

    edit:

Just saw his Periscope stream. Really sucks that he went through all this for just one subpar song. Tsk tsk.

One thing I love is how Mike's singing is so much better here. I hope he sings good live, though.

    Is the singing pitch-corrected?

Almost sounds like it, but I am not sure.
After all he did the song completely himself and I trust Mike that he did record good vocals instead of just correcting them.

Correction happens whether the take is perfect or not, really. The question is how noticeable or extreme it is.

I'm just really happy to see Fort Minor back, and although it's only one song it opens the door to the possibilities of future new material, and shows that Mike still has a real interest in the project.

Really digging the song as well, looking forward to hearing it live.

His voice sounds more natural to me (closer to how he sings live), yet I think I can still hear a but of pitch correction. It makes sense, if the whole thing was done in only a few days, as he said, he would've only done a handful of takes, instead of doing takes over and over again over several months and picking the best one. It's similar to the acoustic version of Final Masquerade (nearly said FM, might have led to some confusion ), although not nearly as raw. It's quite probable he then used a tiny but more pitch correction because he wanted a more professional sound without having to take weeks to record his vocals (as opposed to the acoustic version of FM, where he wouldn't have bothered correcting his vocals as much, to get a more natural, warm sound).

I fucking hate when he raps with the accent. Holy Jesus Mike. It sounds like he's doing a Childish Gambino impression. The song isn't bad but that "drawl" he puts on was immediately noticeable.

This just affirms that I'm growing more and more out of love with the hip-hop elements Mike brings to the table. Song did nothing for me, but I'm glad everyone else is enjoying some new Fort Minor.

What probably is happening with this is that he sets up all the new stuff now, and if he releases another song he will continue with the same aesthetic with the site, merch and all other stuff. He's not gonna go through all that again with every other song he releases. With some exceptions of course.

So don't see it as "he only did all this for one song!", see it like he's preparing for what is to come whenever it comes.

It definitely is.. but his voice sounds a lot better however

Also the drum samples remind me a lot of the WFTE samples ;)
