Click HERE to check out Mike Shinoda on the show. The premiere was true to a one man performance with Mike performing the synth keyboard solo whilst rapping and singing. So what do fans think of the performance? Are you excited to hear it live at individual Fort Minor concerts or with Linkin Park on Tour? Let us know at the LPA Forums! Source: Conan
I find it interesting that Mike is able to do harmonies/melodies in Linkin Park songs like, off-hand, the second vocal part in the end-bit of The Little Things Give You Away, or the harmonies in No More Sorrow, or even Chester's original vocal line in the bridge of Papercut, but put him by himself and he feels he needs to autotune his vocals for the chorus. Confidence, my man. Get it. Your voice is great. Don't toe the edge, jump off.
That was a pretty good performance! Must be different for him, putting himself out there on stage without anyone else to back him up. Hope to see more of this in the future, if and when he decides to release some more Fort Minor tracks.
No, you can definitely hear the live vocals and the wavering sound of the autotune as he struggles to hold the notes in the "Nooooo" sections. It's good, I'm not saying it isn't. But you can totally hear the autotuned vox matching his lip movements.
Auto-Tune is pretty apparent during the bridge, yeah. I imagine that it wasn't supposed to be that blatant, though I'm still wondering why the Maschine is there.
I'm surprised he didn't play the keys for the opening piano line. And the other stuff is probably on his rig for his future Fort Minor shows.
I'm amazed the free download link on the mailing list still doesn't work. Nobody can download this thing. WB need to have serious words with Topspin.
This is so cool. I love the whole project. Also i never saw a hip-hop artist performing an instrument live haha

I was catching hints of auto tune but I was trying to tell myself that it was a vocal effect or something The performance was awesome still. Mike looked like he was having fun and I think he held the stage alone really well. Props to him for that
He was visibly nervous at the start, and, then, shook that off as the song started up. I thought that was really relatable and it humanised him nicely
