The House of Blues, an iconic music venue in Hollywood, L.A., will close in August. Many concerts from several major artists, including LP, were held there, including the LPU concert in 2001 and the 2012 Living Things launch concert.

Was it here or The Roxy where Brad was a security guard?

I wouldn't be surprised if LP played a show there before the doors close for good.

Gotta love it, an iconic venue closed and demolished for more condominiums and hotels. Beautiful.

At least the hotel will have a history. "This was once a famous music venue."

Aw man. I remember Tinfoil and the Sabotage cover being premiered at that show in 2012. Good times.

Unless they've been planning to do so for months and months now, there's no way that they could find the time.

You have absolutely no idea about our country. The corporations here would destroy iconic hotspots, greeneries, culturally relevant places and pieces of nature just to build condos, townhouses and apartments. There's even a city here that's flooding all the time because they turned one of our few waterways into the river into a road.

It's just frustrating. I almost wish that our government would get involved and protect some landmarks based off of 'cultural and/or historical' significance. We already protect national parks through conservation laws, and music/videos through the library of congress based on cultural impact, so why shouldn't we have the option to save some truly well known landmarks based on the same guidelines? I get that people who own the land own the rights to do what they want with the land, but its still frustrating.

I know exactly what you mean. Something similar is happening where I live. Just very frustrating that venues of significant cultural impact can be made way for hotels etc.
