But then I thought, meh maybe he doesn't even really know who Filip is :p

But anyway, I love Final Masquerade too! Don't listen to doofus Filip.

It's just a very good song, and the rest of THP is very meh. That's why!

I think I've lost my street cred (if I even had one) with that post...

It's just a really good song through and through, even if it isn't the most alternative thing they've put out. I love the production, it feels so... etherial, especially the guitars. It also features some of Chester's best vocal work, and even the drumming is catchy. Just a really good song even if it's not as #viceral as the rest of THP. :D

EDIT: And as icing on the cake, I love the acoustic version too, although I always thought that in the studio version, Mike should have come in after the solo before the two sang the final chorus in harmony, à la Rebellion.

I agree with the above post. The only thing I don't like about "Masquerade" is how the chorus melody is largely the same as the verse melody

That and some of the lyrics, but I can look past those fairly easily in this case

Final Masquerade carries a beautiful melody while still having incredibly jammy rock and roll moments. I absolutely love it and it's currently my favourite alternative/power ballad from the band.

Something about Final Masquerade feels very mature to me, like very confidently created by a band that has mastered power ballads. Like it almost feels like SOTD, Powerless, (all their ballads) really led up to this song.
