Funnily enough, drawbar is my favourite track on the album. :D

Yeah, to me, "Drawbar" is definitely one of the very best parts of the album. It's the only track which I'd describe as being absolutely flawless.

Unfortunately, some people can't handle the nuance of a track that isn't br00tal heavy ~rock~ and others still can't understand the idea that the band and Tom Morello jammed the idea out (and, therefore, the whole idea would never have existed if they hadn't - like time travel) so it's unfairly hated.

This has become "Random THP chat"

I hope that Dave surprises us with great bass lines on LP7 the same way Rob surprised us with great drumming in THP. I also hope Mike drops more keyboard solos, because both Robot Boy and Welcome are so great.

    I agree.

Adding more complex / interesting bass lines would surely be a way LP could stick with their goals of evolving with each new record. We know he has the talent, it's just a matter of writing the parts and fitting it into the songs.

I think we're more likely to see more of Mike on keys. There's plenty of examples of some catchy Mike key rifts, old and new. You mentioned two there.

I've realised that there aren't really any keyboard solos in any of the music I listen to except for Linkin Park and whatever else Shinoda does. I definitely welcome more of that.

I used the kappa cause I resembled the posts before me while being unironic, despite them being ironic.
    Or something like that.

It just felt right, ok? :D
    Just like Drawbar.

People are so quick to bash Brad's talent, or lack of, but they think Dave is capable of writing great bass lines?

I don't think I've listened to a Snax song in my life. Some recommendations?

The easiest one to find is Run Joseph Run. I don't know too many of their songs by name, so that's about the only one I got.

You are right, so let's say I used the kappa the same way as you. :kappa:

Ok, that song really features more complex bass work than 99% of LP's song. Or maybe even 100%?

I think most people don't doubt Brad's ability to write great guitar stuff, everyone's just annoyed that he doesn't actually do it, and we keep getting nothing but walls of power chords most of the time. But we've seen in demos, video clips, and moments like TLTGYA solo that he's capable of great stuff. Likewise we've seen Phoenix is capable of great stuff, but for whatever reason there's not much bass work going on in most LP songs. I think Phoenix has had opportunity to do some interesting bass stuff in songs in moments like TLTGYA bridge, most of the interlude/instrumental tracks they've done, the end of Until it Breaks, etc.

Um, no? They got Mario Savio, Martin Luther King Jr, AND Robert Oppenheimer to guest on it.

Indeed. Shinoda and his necromancy powers got them all into the studio :kappa:
