Double posting cause fuck it, let it be on the forums front page. True Friends video: http://youtu.be/jeQMuTf3B0E I'm really liking it. Obviously True Detective inspired once again, but it puts an interesting spin on the genric lyrics and gives off a really dark atmosphere. I guess it makes the track more sincere, which was my biggest problem with it in the first place.
I agree with this, tho, at the same time I won't lie, they just had to pick such a weak song to be a single in place of some of their other more powerful tracks. Its a shame. I have a feeling Doomed will be their next single/music video, but it certainly will take a while.
Anyone else who's been a fan of the band from before this album dropped thinks That's the Spirit is their best work? I fucking love it.
Sempiternal was a kind of interesting take on today's mainstream metalcore. That's the Spirit is an uninteresting take on 2000's mainstream rock. So no.
Yeah, me too. Eh, I'm a fan of the band, and I really love Sykes' vocals. I didn't expect to enjoy their pop rock album this much. But all the melodies are so good and I'm a sucker for anyone combining synths and a good riff. Khm, Linkin Park.
Sempiternal was the only other album I liked by them, and I prefer That's The Spirit. I just love songs like Doomed, Avalanche, and Oh No too much.
I think right now I'd say each of their albums is better than the last one. "Sleepwalking" has actually recently become my favorite off "Sempiternal", 'cause it's the poppiest one there. I don't know how my opinion shifted this much.
Why the hell did I give Avalanche a 10/10 when I first reviewed the album? That song is at least deserving of a 11/10.
As someone who wasn't very familiar with their music before this album dropped, I think That's The Spirit is fantastic.
Idk your musical tastes (other than Linkin Park ), I'm sure most of us would tell you to check out Sempiternal. Go To Hell For Heaven's Sake is the song that got me into the band, feels LP-ish. and comes from Sempiternal. Can You Feel My Heart might be up your alley.
Really digging the record but I'd still rank Sempiternal a bit higher. Third one would be "There is a hell". Not a fan of the other stuff.
