Just dreamed about a song called "After bunker".

It was cool, big atmosphere, conceptual. Layered and blended vocals all the song.

I was actually able to watch this video, since it was made public. It was intriguing getting a closer look into what goes on in the studio so early in the production process.

As for the sound of the loop/early work-in-progress, it definitely did not remind me of any other song immediately. It sounded like its own thing, which is pretty cool (and expected) for LP.

Lastly, it still irritates me how quickly people jump to conclusions about entire albums when listening to a very short snippet or even just watching a video about the production. Just read the comments (if you dare) and you'll soon see what I mean, with someone saying it's gross that LP is going in a "dance music" direction for their new album. All I can say to that person is, just try to dance to that eerie synth loop and see what happens

It irks me, actually, when people jump straight to calling something "EDM" or "dance music" as soon as they can't make out enough guitars

I don't mind if LP fans don't like what they hear but the collective (and willful) ignorance about everything except ~nu-metal~ disgusts me.

I know to expect it, but that doesn't mean it's okay, IMO.

Oh, the number of times I've tried to kick some sense into such LP "fans".
"OMG, LP went EDM with ATS. They sold out. They suck now." and I'm like "....what?"

Since we're on the subject of "LP fans" saying they suck now and whatever, I'd like to share how it annoys me that so many people make me feel like I have the shitiest taste in music because LP are my favorite band. I know they aren't the greatest ever, but they are still my favorite. The connection I have with them transcends the music. Through all the years of being a fan, I still to this day, don't understand why so many fans of music in general hate them. Sometimes I just get really tired of defending them. It feels like a losing battle no matter what I say. I really shouldn't care what people say about them, but I'm passionate in the things I enjoy, and it can be difficult to just let it go all the time when I'm always seeing people shit on them everywhere. It's like they are such a gross and lame thing to like, and it seems like that's not going to change anytime soon.

I'd say that, for me, it is more than music. They could make music I outright don't like and they'll still most likely be my favourite band. They earned that with more than just some nice songs.

That's pretty much how i feel. Sure, they've made some great songs that I enjoy, but the reason why they are my favorite band goes deeper than just the music.

I agree, I get exactly the same kind of reaction (from people who actually know/remember they exist). Tbf, the same kind of close mindedness exists amongst a lot of the LP fanbase as well.
I enjoy what I enjoy, and try not to give a shit what people think. It makes life a lot easier. LP are never going to be universally popular, although I do think they deserve more respect. I'm just glad I'm a fan of a band which is made up of such a nice set of blokes, who actually seem to care about their fans as well as using their position to make a difference in the world.
