I have no pity for you.

I've been scratching and resampling everything in the vinyls. It's really fun to see how they fit together in the songs.

I found the samples really interesting, I would love to see someone explain how he finds the tracks, then what he does to manipulate them. I was most surprised at the LFY intro sound, I'm really curious as to what the process for playing that one is.

Also, I really wanna hear a song where Mike sings a duet with a girl, like skylar grey or something (sings, not raps, I know Fort Minor exists). I think it would be really cool to hear a Roads Untraveledish song with Mike's deep voice and a girl, maybe even singing to each other (even though that's cheesy and wouldn't be very LP like at all).

Haha maybe not between a man and a woman, but this reminds me of what I pictured when I first heard the acoustic version of Final Masquerade. Honestly that song sounds like the two of them are singing to each other about their bromance. It's stupid but I can't get it out my mind's eye whenever I listen to that song.

Tangentially related, I really like the way they structured that acoustic version, with Mike singing the first verse and chorus, Chester singing the second verse, and both singing the rest. It's a welcome change from the usual structure, where Mike/Chester sings all the verses and Chester (usually) sings all the choruses. They also did this on the song you mentioned, Roads Untravelled, as the bridge is the same as the verses just sung by Chester instead of Mike. It's a nice effect, hearing the same part of the song sung by two completely different voice types.

I love Breaking The Habit. It has almost none of the issues I have with the rest of Meteora and for the most part, Hybrid Theory.

I, too, love Breaking The Habit as a song, especially since it's so distinguishable from the rest of Meteora. I guess you could say it's sort of ballad-like in its concept and sound but its fast pace makes it something different instead. We fans have been lucky to see how BTH developed by hearing Drawing and the original Mike demo (give Mike some credit, he tried ).

I am curious, in your view, what issues are not in BTH that are in Hybrid Theory?

I wish they would do a proper acoustic version of breaking the habit where he sings it intensely like that.

For some reason, I just had the random thought that being in the studio with the band must be incredibly boring sometimes. Not that they're boring or uninteresting people and musicians. It's not much to do with their songs. I just can imagine Chester falling asleep while Mike does micro edits of a Pro Tools session for 3 hours
