Most vocals are screamed. "Deathbeds" is entirely sung though, and "And The Snakes Start To Sing" is 90% sung too. Though they have screams, "Can You Feel My Heart" and "Sleepwalking" are pretty poppy tracks, not too far off from what you hear on the new album. In my opinion, it's an album you should check out. It combines electronics with guitars in a pretty interesting way.
If too much screaming is an issue, I'd probably say that songs you should check out from that album are 1. Can You Feel My Heart 2. Sleepwalking 3. Go To Hell For Heaven's Sake 4. And The Snakes Start To Sing 5. Hospital For Souls 6. Deathbeds On a sidenote, just found out Oli recorded Deathbeds with his wife. Kinda neat, tho I don't care for it too much.
A lot of the vocals on Sempiternal really are more "Shouting" than real screaming, as their previous, less digestible albums consisted of. Also entirely bereft of growls.
There're a lot of obvious influences here... From Linkin Park, to Thirty Seconds To Mars. And the guitar on Follow You reminds me of The Xx... Great album though.
I wonder how Chester would sound today if he in his younger years just had the audience sing half of their songs live.
Jared Leto has been doing it for sometime, but it honestly doesn't seem to be helping him, if you ask me. He certainly struggles to hit higher notes or have proper air control. Doubt letting the crowd sing a bit would have helped Chester. He'd probably end up in the same boat, mostly because of his constant screaming.
Been a while since any updates popped up. Seems like the guys are going strong with a new American tour coming up in a couple months followed by a european tour and australian. That aside, the band has finally cut off their balls and made "Follow You" their next single. https://twitter.com/bmthofficial/status/702221556693401600?lang=en A music video is in the works and the song itself has just been played live. The Bring Me The Horizon thread. BMTH is one of my favorite bands, so I thought I'd make a thread for it. Talk about BMTH here. What are your favorite songs? Favorite albums? Post anything BMTH related here. Just remember to be nice to everyone.
I listen to That's The Spirit and Sempiternal semi-regularly (both were in my top 5 albums of the year for the years they were released), but literally nothing else.
I haven't listened to that song in forever either. Whenever it comes up I skip it. Pretty much the only song from that album I do that to.
I've come to like "Throne" a fair bit again, it's a fun track. What ruined it is that every interview before the album dropped thought that synth deserved to be played in the background for the full 5 minutes of the interview. Anyway, to join the discussion, I guess it's no secret anymore that "Spirit" was one of my favorite albums of last year. I still play it pretty regularly.
