LPLive Facebook I think. It's amazing how we're both just Linkin Park fansites yet we function so, so differently.
Yes, we are very different than LPLive plebs. LPLive likes Memes. LPA likes unfunny, overly large and disturbing GIFs with enormous file sizes. And Kappa. Dunno what's better.
We don't really encourage any name calling or competition. We're friendly sites and we've collaborated in the past. At the end of the day, both sites work just fine, and both are dedicated to the same thing, one isn't necessarily better than the other, it's just a matter of which one you prefer.
Yeah of course, I didn't want to bash any site here and was just being a bit self-ironic at the little quirks we have at the LPA. And I wondered why minuteforce sounded a bit negative about the meme. Is there anything improper about it which I missed? I mean, it's just a part of internet culture which isn't that present here, but we have others here which may look a bit awkward from an outsider's point of view. But perhaps he was also just being a bit ironic there. Rumors have it that this could occur here, in the depths of the LPA, every now and then.
I feel like LPA is a better place to go if you happen to be a Linkin Park fan who also wants to take part in a lot of off-topic/"other" discussions. LPL generally tends to be a more LP-oriented community. They have similar non-LP sub-forums like LPA does, but they're usually pretty dead.
Yes. I posted this first on Linkin Park Philippines Facebook page and I didn't expected that this meme would become viral. I'm was shocked that it has been widespread on the internet but I forgot to add some watermark. XD
LOL I have no expectations. How many are left? Anyways, like usual, at least I hope there are vocals.
For some reason, I have a feeling that this track will be instrumental, I could easily be wrong though. Also, I guess Mike's fixing the whole 1999 vs. 1998 thing, since this is actually titled 1999?
Yeah I agree. That's why I'm not getting any hopes up. I think they were incredibly generous to give us Animals, Basil, Chance of Rain, TooLegit, and Grudgematch all on one LPU release. 5 demos with vocals is good enough of course but as part of the fandom, I have to crave more vocal demos. Honestly at this point, I just want one Meteora demo with vocals that isn't a track from the album and I will never ask for anything more
I just watched "The Catalyst"'s video, and, for the first time in a while, it hit me again how much better that song, video, and the whole damn album is than anything the band has done before or after. I hope the new album blows me away like that.
I was a 10th grader when I first heard this. And now......Yep, that shit still blow me the fuck away...
Like, I love all of the band's music, but holy shit ATS is just on another level for me. The thing is I feel that they could make an album as creative as that again. If they really set their minds to it, they could go crazy and do it again, I honestly believe that. And yet I don't think they ever will. The reason we got ATS is because the band wanted to rebrand themselves, they wanted to "delinkinparkify" themselves, to prove themselves. It was an album that came out of the band painfully forcing themselves to experiment. Nowadays, I get the impression (as Mike put it during the LT cycle IIRC) that the band are perfectly content in their own skins. I get the feeling that Mike and Co. are more than happy to write songs until they have enough good ones for an album, tour it, rinse and repeat. Sometimes there'll be experimentation, sometimes there won't be. Like on both LT and THP, there'll be a mixed bag, a few UIBs and MTGs among the BIDs and AFNs. 40-45 minute albums, 12-13 tracks, 1 instrumental, and maybe an interlude. There's nothing wrong with this, the guys are great songwriters and I'm more than happy to get a new batch of great songs every two to three years to add to the collection. But sometimes I wish the band would return to that attitude of frustration, of trying to prove to themselves and to the world that they were more than just a generic rap rock band. I feel the guys as people are in such a great place right now, and I'm happy for them for that, just as I'm extremely grateful that the band hasn't split up and that we're still getting a consistent stream of new music, but sometimes I wish they would just go balls to the wall again and release something alien to anything they've ever done before.
