Hey there, esangelus, and welcome to the LPA! It seems that you, too, are uncertain, or aren't feeling, what we have heard so far. I'm honestly hoping that LP7 builds upon the strengths of THP, mainly the depth and complexity of the instrumentation, and takes them to a whole new level.
I am curious, how do you think that ALITS is a "carbon copy" of GATS? Other than some similar riffing in the intro, and a similar vibe with the chorus, pretty much everything else is different enough between the two songs.

These little studio updates seem to irritate more than excite me. They should just record a video and talk about the weather next time.

If this meant for me, I am probably the master of derailing comment chains with totally unrelated posts
Also, that is E. P. I. C. Good thing this didn't happen in real life, though.

Thank you Xero-G! And exactly what you said. The verses were different and they were pretty good, but for the last track on an album, one almost expects it to be more... resolute. The opening riff and the chord structures were, in my humble opinion, too similar. I felt like they literally ripped off their own song and the chorus didn't resonate with me like so many songs have before. I felt like they could have really made an impact with ALITS if they had tried to bring it full circle. Which is what I think the band has been kind of tip toeing around and running from this entire time. I don't want them to go back to their Hybrid Theory style, but I think they have a LOT of great sounds from their various years that they could use to create an amazing album. Honestly, I think they could silence a lot of the people saying they should go back to Hybrid Theory and Meteora by simply utilizing the guitar setup they had in that time period. There is a clear difference in the feel of their live guitar performance from back then compared to now and I think they run too much from it. My last word is that QWERTY is probably a more well composed and orchestrated track than anything on THP. Just listening to the live version they played in Tokyo (and seeing the song live in 2008) gave me chills. I think it's still their heaviest track. And it was MTM era. To close, I would love to see them use all of what they have learned so far into a single album. From their original style to THP. Cause let's be honest, Rob's drumming was the shit on THP. Best part imo. But yes, I hope LP7 builds on all of their strengths. They did have some good complexities in THP. So take that and mix it with the rest of the tools.

I like that they're not rushing this like their last two albums.

I felt ALITS was more of a copy of Victimized. Guessing they tried to improve Victimized. The guitars are clearly the same.

FYI, "Victimized" was a retroactive copy of "A Line In The Sand" :kappa:

I wouldn't expect this album till spring of next year at the earliest, potentially March-May. And that's just because of what I know, and the fact the band is still very much working on the record.

Which honestly doesn't bother me. People seem to forget that between the LPU releases, The Mall Soundtrack, "Welcome" and other assorted releases...that we've gotten a lot of music from the LP camp the last 2 years. We have more than enough music to keep us busy while we wait for whatever awesomeness they're cooking up in the studio.

Personally, I have so much stuff to listen to, and I'm excited for so many upcoming releases, that I could wait on LP basically forever
