I like how stereo typical this is being. Due to what they're wearing were guessing the genre of music as a more indie pop. It could be the hardest record ever you never know but there just wearing cool clothes and not following musics infamous genre defining fashion.
Smashing expectations in that particular way isn't something I can imagine them doing. I mean, if they could do that, maybe they could put together a really fresh live show while they're at it ...
In regards to the people they've been working with, and that picture, I'd say Indie-Pop / Indie Rock is actually quite a safe guess.
With the new LP look, I think the next album will be a heavy synth-grunge-nu-pop-rap-hop-punk-indie-alternative-hip hop one. What do you guys think?
i guess its about the picture he shared (women rights or something) iirc, he got a shitstorm because of this, so that was his answer
They never randomly tweet about their new albums. By this time, there usually is a site with puzzles, a game, or something. They're about to reveal something - something big. I feel it! Album drop is unlikely at the moment, but I'm sure a single will be any week now.
The problem is that we've been telling ourselves this the whole month now and some people including me are closer to the edge or about to break.
Which is stupid if true, because it's absolutely 110% the band's choice if they'd want to make a political album anyways (even though they're not). If people don't like it, they don't have to listen. Simple. Also, for those speculating the promo based off of previous album cycles, I wouldn't expect anything 'typical' about this. Usually by now, with the album being done the band would start doing press, but they're still oddly silent. A good example is THP, I had an interview 8 months prior to release (while the album was still being recorded), a 6 song sampler to review basically 2 months prior, and the full album 2-3 weeks before release. With this? No interviews (yet), no samplers, nothing. Doesn't mean that I won't wake up one day soon and discover the press blitz has started...but this cycle just feels oddly quiet compared to others.
It'd be interesting if they cut straight to a single and album without a lot of press stuff accompanying it
We're either in the calm before the storm... or the eye of the storm, with the production behind us and the blitz ahead... #deep #yesijustmadetwometaphorsforthesamething But you're right. I truly have no idea how far into the album cycle we're at right now and that's pretty neat. I wonder if the band just isn't doing marketing because they don't know how to market this album?
I'm still hoping to wake up one day and be surprised by a "Beyonce" like release with a full album and a music video for every song. The videos is optional but just "BAM!" new album would be awesome.
