I don't consider myself a music snob at all, and I know you're probably right, but the thought still just doesn't sit right with me.
Well that's a pretty normal video I guess! Did Rob have grey hairs? Jeebus, how far have we come? I'm hoping for a breath of fresh air. Go back a few years, when I threw on my headphones at midnight and listened to A Thousand Suns I fell in love with that album. I've listened to Living Things in full (that took me 3 years to get over that) and I think it's okay, there's songs on there I like but I don't have the will to listen to it from start to finish. The Hunting Party was that heavy fix I think most if not all of us needed. Right? So I'm hoping that, based upon the first clip, the new album is emotionally charged to the point I'll listen to the thing from start to finish. Just let it explode with sound gradually and let the lyrics flow naturally. We tried ketchup on ATS, please let this album be like going to Outback Steakhouse and trying a bloomin onion for the first time. That sauce is amazing. This album should be too. --RS
Can thank the media for that one "Because these people love to put a twist to your words to infer that you said something fucking absurd" But Mike made some poor word choices with that Disney comment. Not that he was necessarily wrong, but it could've been worded better. That's why I like how quiet they've been this time, not many buzzwords, no controversy. It's been more personal. ...plus Mayberry burned him and he doesn't want any of that again
I like this idea a lot, actually. It's an interesting observation. For funsies, as I know Radiohead dabbled with URL things in the past, I tried to put every letter of the alphabet after "on" and the URL. All came up as support pages, so they're keeping that lid pretty shut. I tried 0-9 as well, and got nothing.
As much as I don't like Bieber's music for the most part I actually wouldn't mind him on an LP song. But you know those nu-metal fans would definitely claim "sellout" constantly if that was the case I don't know too much about hosting a website but maybe they haven't created the next exact url yet?
Well.. the man is 38 nearing 40 now. So it's very possible. Mike is going to be 40 in a few days. Time flies!
Right, they haven't clearly. I tried them because, I remember when Radiohead release King of Limbs, there was suspicion that they were going to release three shorter albums in sequence. The order URL ended in a /1, and wouldn't change if you did /2, but if you did /3, it led you to a blank page that just said "BYE" in plain text. It was interesting, but of course nothing came of it because Radiohead does things like that. So, I thought I'd try it here with Linkin Park in case they decided to do something funky with the URL. Does not appear so just yet.
What do you guys think they mean by "expect the unexpected"? For me, the unexpected thing would be if they'd release an album that kinda goes back to the roots. But they sort of did it with the hunting party. Everything else I can think of is kinda expected.
