I'm getting more and more convinced of an indie pop/rnb direction.

The artists they've been collaborating with, the little glimpse into "heavy", and now this sneaky "maybe possibly somehow could be the poppiest thing".

Linkin Park has always been a "rock" band. Them releasing a record not related to rock in any shape or form, would fit that "Expect the unexpected".

If that's the case, I really hope it comes from an artistically honest place, and not with the dumb goal of charting higher/being "big" again after ATS/THP.

The most unique song they've made up to this point is Blackout. Want more stuff like that, less screaming though.

I guess I have no problems with a poppy song, I am just not sure whether I like how it's said. I mean, a good song is a good song and I don't care if it's pop af..

This album feels like its gonna be a pop album about love, something that taylor swift or beiber would do

That's one of my favorite things about the band, they don't like to settle for one thing. One track on here may be "poppy as fuck", then another may be the "weirdest" experimental track. Maybe some day they should stick with one thing and perfect it, but at the same time, that's not exactly what makes the band exciting to me.

On another note, I'm confused by these teaser upload dates, it's all random.

Perhaps they suspended the teaser for Tuesday due to the song radio listing leak, re-arranged and resumed the video posting yesterday and today. Perhaps we might get another teaser tomorrow.

You mean like they did in Meteora, A Thousand Suns, the first half of Living Things, and The Hunting Party?

It's not necessarily 13th. It can also be 21.

That would make the most sense IMO at least for the commercial release, since the 17th is a Friday....

I'm speaking specifically for the duration of more than one album. In the way that Meteora was a continuation of Hybrid Theory. If they found something they're really damn good at, then spent another album "perfecting" that sound, if that makes sense. But again, what I like about the band is that post-Meteora everything has been completely different from the last. I don't think that's something I'd prefer personally, as them not making their albums "samey" has been what's kept my interest for so long.
