    The most cliche LP lyrics

"Holding on to let go of those lies
I wish there was promises behind your eyes
My skin is feel, real and healed by the sun
And take away all this pain when they come"
I think every clichéd word is in there

I like "I Put all the pain you gave to me on display. But didn't realize. Instead of setting it free I took what I hated
and made it apart of me, it never goes away.....it never goes away" I can relate to it more

Please no! That's the worst thing they have ever done.

Very few artists make interludes work well.

I'd much rather here lyrics like this

"The transcendent occulus of dreary avalanches fall into the triumph blunder of the Fidus Achates.
Chachinate into my soul and engrave the treacheries of the translucent sky."

    :kappa:

    Nothing wrong with simple lyrics

LOL and Mike will be like
"Lyrical Miracle opposition interfacing apocalyptic competition
Honest atomic persistence disintegrating common positions"

It's shaping up to be forgettable af. Sounds nice, but boring and completely unoriginal. At least Chester sounds nice.

Love your avatar. Killer musicians and songwriters in that band.

This post is amazing. That was so spot on, I believed for a second that some lyrics leaked. I'm laughing my ass off right now hahaha.

For me it sounds like the typical song you would hear on the radio.

I gotta be honest, it sounded way better to me when it was just Shinoda at a piano. I was feeling that. And I don't see how Chester's gonna sound good in the song's register if he sings on the final

On the other hand, it's always possible that I'll be pleasantly surprised :)

Yeah, I actually prefer Mike's vocals over Chester in this melody. Well, we'll have to wait...

Maybe it's just because I've always loved listening to full albums, but for me an effort to tie the songs of an album together into one cohesive work, rather than just a collection of songs, is essential for an album to really resonate with me. This doesn't have to mean interludes, but I just don't want another collection of individual 3 minute songs, where each and every musical idea in each and every song has to be repeated at least three times. I'd much rather an album with twists and turns structure wise, and while interludes aren't necessary for that (songs like WTCFM and Blackout for example have outros that develop forwards without having to return to the hook), they naturally give an album a much more spontaneous and interesting structure, which, in my opinion, makes the album far more memorable. Point is, for me, I'd much rather hear a good musical idea done well once, rather than repeated as a chorus or verse. Imagine if Jornada del Muerto was twice as long, for example. Sure, it'd be a more "fleshed out" instrumental, but the magic of that song for me is how it naturally develops towards its climax, which would be ruined by any repetition. Same goes for Drawbar (which is more of an instrumental and less of an interlude I guess ), which slowly grows in tension towards the big climax and soft piano outro, with absolutely zero repetition. TL;DR, I love instrumentals and I hate over-repetition, so interludes are some of my favourite things in any album haha. :)

Sorry for the rant, I just really fucking love interludes.

(Some interludes off the top of my head that I really love, both individually and as part of their respective albums, for reference) :)

One thing I hope they do is actually play every new song live like most bands do when new albums come out. I'm still disappointed they never played Powerless or Roads Untraveled. They played all of their first 3 albums and all of ATS except for Robot Boy but only played around half of the last two albums.

I would love interludes with lyrics. Like imagine if the intro verse to Blackbirds was an interlude except longer and a better instrumental? That would be kinda cool.

This song reminds me "POWERLESS" from LT.
    This is their "unexpected"?
