Ok so to be honest, theres nothing wrong with the song. Its very catchy and probably sounds better in my head.
The song is very catchy but gonna be honest... not feeling this right now, maybe it will grow on me but I guess I expected something different. Also the song is too short imo, so it might get old pretty fast because there are not much elements in it.
Yeah, you know, I can dig this, but a whole record in that vein might not be my thing at all. It's straight-up top-20 radio pop. Cool ear candie at first, but...
So the reactions are either 'this is the worst freaking thing I've ever heard' or 'wow what a track'. Basically...every Linkin Park debut single since MTM in a nutshell
Yea....I don't see this aging well. =/ Even after 2 or 3 listens I am already sensing that. And, yes I know, "everyone has their own opinion!!1!!1!!!1". I am probably one of the biggest blind sheep LP fan boys. It's just not clicking for me. *shrug*
Oh man, not my thing. First time I've been kinda meh to a song since I first heard The Catalyst. (Sorry! haha. It grew on me a bit though.) It almost feels like Kiiara ft. Linkin Park. Don't get me wrong I think she sounds great in the song. I think listening to THP for the past 3 years had spoiled me.
I think my only complaint (and it's more of a personal preference) is that the song is actually pretty short. I didn't expect that. Other than that, oh my word, this is why I freaking love Linkin Park even after all these years. Always changing, never afraid to take creative risks, still managing to make amazing music ever since I was a kid. What a bold (and beautiful) creative step. Kiiara sounds amazing, Chester sounds so refreshed and new, and for a mainstream pop single, it's such a good pop song! Never have let me down yet. Favorite band forever. ...OK, I have one more complaint actually: MAY 19TH IS TOO FAR, COME ON
The vocals are definitely a highlight but way too short. Going to need a lot of repeat listens to get a good feel for it. I like the addition of Kiiara but I am glad she is the only feature on the album. I like the fact that we're going to get more unique vocals on this album from Chester and Mike.
This feature is far better than anything on THP, makes the song so fresh. and Kiiara's voice is fucking incredible.
Well this worries me. I don't like this. I've never disliked a Linkin Park song that they have chosen to introduce their new album as their single. But this is short, Chester sounds a bit off, the lyrics are bland, and the sound just isn't Linkin Park. I know they have changed but this isn't the type of change that is going to resonate. Ahhhg....I wanted to like this so bad
I have no doubt the rest of the album will have some surprises and won't be all like this. They didn't spend 2 years writing just this stuff. But I do love this track for what it is.
I, too, feel very underwhelmed right now. The song has a nice chill vibe and tune to it, but that less-than-3:00 time is really bugging me. It's too bad that THP didn't do it for you. I'm a huge fan of that album, and can say with certainty that "Heavy" may be better than only 1 or 2 songs at most on THP, in terms of overall sound and vocals. More listens may change my mind, though.
