I've been listening to A Line in the Sand a decent amount lately and I hope Mike sounds like he does when he sings the beginning, so good!

Wasn't that part written (or even recorded) during ATS? I thought it was. If it was recorded back then, I bet he sounds really good now :).

I believe that song originates back to ATS If I remember right. I think the song title can be found on one of the boards during the LPTV videos or DVD documentary.

And that's a fair point, he's probably improved even more since then! I'm excited to see how it sounds :D

I am way more pumped for this record more than the last two and THP is my third favorite album from them.

But no instrumentals really makes this better and I'm excited for Good Goodbye, Halfway Right and Sorry For Now based on descriptions.

Nobody Can Save Me, Sharp Edges, Talking to Myself and Battle Symphony also interest me too based on title. I would expect the song One More Light would be the closer but I bet Sharp Edges is gonna be interesting.

Mike has an amazing voice, when he sings in lower key: GOOSEBUMPS.

Iridescent is my favorite. The beginning is beautiful by Mike.

As much as people (including myself) love Mike's voice, he hasn't been really great live. He struggles in singing a lot more than Chester, even if it's in a relatively eas(ier?) vocal range.

I've heard Chester sound off at live shows too, a few times. I've seen them in concert 8 times. I don't say that to brag, I promise, but more to show I have a good sample size to go off of. I've heard them both sound great and both sound a little off. Either way it's always been a great show in the end (no pun intended).

One thing I just noticed now when listening to all the old albums that this album is only the first time they used an entire album with the method of "lyrics first". According to the booklet "notes" Easier to Run was just some lyrics Chester wrote and Mike and Don liked it so much that they needed to write a song around them.

In the case of "Easier To Run", I think Chester turned to pre-written lyrics for the song the band was creating. I don't think they created a song around Chester's lyrics.

I'm so excited for SorryFor Now. The 9 second snippet of the chorus sounds straight out of Minutes to Midnight.

    To quote from the Booklet:
Sounds to me like the music was written around the song.

Reads to me like they wrote the track and, then, realised that those lyrics would fit.

I think Blackee is referencing the little updates and tweets where LP is thanking Google Play, Deezer, Spotify and other services or outlets for playing or featuring their music. Not exactly fan engagement.

One of my strongest hopes for "One More Light" is that its last track, "Sharp Edges", will be a track that wraps up the entire album and delivers one hell of a finale, much like A Line In The Sand. Really, I can't get enough of ALITS and its rhythmic, head-banging, and sometimes even mellow awesomeness. I actually consider this song to be the best album closer that LP has put out, though TLTGYA and Powerless work great as powerful, emotional closers, too.
