Lorde's second album Melodrama is slated for release in summer of 2017. Here's her first single "Green Light" if you haven't heard it yet:
I'm really digging "Green Light". It's both more upbeat than her usual dark music, and I'm really into the piano riff.
Hmm not sure how I feel about this song.. It's not bad, but I prefer her darker stuff like Yellow Flicker Beat
Me too. "Biting Down" is probably my favourite song of hers, largely due to how dark it is. Though I do enjoy her happier songs like "The Love Club" as well.
Goddamn guys this is probably one of the best pop albums I've heard this year. I can't pick a favorite. And this performance was pretty great. Also
I totally missed the album release. Realized it had been releaased a week ago yesterday, and hurried to listen to it. The album is good. It didn't immediately enchant me like Pure Heroine did, it'll take some time to get used to, but it's still definitely a solid record and there are a couple gems on it. "Liability" and "Writer in the Dark" are my favourites. The latter was really magical on first listen, that chorus is so cuddly and grande at the same time. They've certainly added more umph and substance to the production, which I'm kind of neutral about, but it's true that they wouldn't have many directions to go in by just sticking with the sort of super-minimalist style of the debut. There's more variety than on Pure Heroine too. I'm liking it, but I'm not loving it!
