At first I thought it was another artist as the other voice in the background didn't resemble any of the lp members, but the CD label just lists xero (the artist names are bigger than song names) but I'm not completely sure anyway. All the info we can find the better.
That's definitely a possibility! Yeah the back cover definitely shows as featuring 007, but you're right that the font is smaller than the other listed featured artists. Interesting. Thanks again for sharing these. Really cool to get two new old tracks to listen to, especially as Mike has done the art for some of it too.
Drop has a hook that is strangely catchy. And Mike sounds clear as fuck on it. Probably the best Xero track next to Stick 'N Move.
So the chorus for Drop is: "The world is nothing but a handful of idiots The world is nothing but a basket full of stupids The world is nothing but a bucket full of morons I don't wanna talk to you so don't look at me"
So here are some things to discuss : -I'm trying to get in touch with Lee "The Crusher" Cadena who is the executive of the cds, so if i accomplish it let me know what would you guys like me to ask him -Who is Artofficial : at the back cover says "Kenji & Artofficial (of Xero)" does that mean he was part of Xero as well, is he Joe Hahn ? -The year of release as I said it's probably 1997 or early 1998, any proof of anything about the date ? -Do you think "F/" stands for Feat. and 007 is SoB manager ? -Who does the backing vocals in "Fiends" is it Mike himself or Mark or someone else ? -Who is up for writting the lyrics for the songs ? -Literally any info about Rapology or Urban Network. -Finally which one did you like the most : Drop Vs Fiends
I think its amazing how 2 Xero songs sound better than the new LP song. Mike's rapping is insane in these, i kinda get that hopsin vibe a bit
Artofficial is most likely Joe as Mike repeatedly said Joe was the one he did his first proper songs with. The backing vocals sound more like Mark to me I liked both of them equally
What's amazing is how these 2 "sound" like crap. Pure ass in terms of how they sound in comparison to a much more crisp song that is Heavy.
Fiends has that "Joe can't fix his turntables" line in it and considering Mike and Joe met in art school...I'd assume Artofficial is Joe.
The lyrics for Drop are fucking INSANE. Obviously miles better than Heavy. I will spin this for quite some time.
Honestly what a great find this was. Bravo. Gonna be listening this shit until OML drops. Both tracks are dope af.
Thanks! Nice find. This is really neat. Maybe Picture board will actually be leaked in the future, theres hope.
