Rock Sound posted an interview with Chester today. Check out the article HERE.

Chester discusses some of the personal issues the band members faced during the making of Linkin Park's new album, One More Light, and the impact this had on creating the new album. He also discusses Linkin Park's first single 'Heavy' from the new album and working with external songwriters on this album.

Chester explained Linkin Park have been taking risks since Minutes To Midnight and the band feels they are pushing themselves creatively:

There are also some darker topics touched on in this interview as Chester talks about someone close to him trying to kill themselves and how talking about this experience with the band resulted in a song being written:

The article ends with a quote from Chester:

The interview is an interesting read and it's clear the new album is a very special and personal record for the band. The article states to keep an eye out for more from this interview soon. Discuss the interview in our forums.

One More Light will be released on May 19th 2017.

I like this interview. I like the honesty and the openness about it. You can really see he was not in the best of places and he definitely has worked on it, he's well damn right to be proud. As a person and as an artist.

Don't care what people think of the album, more than just the music, I like where is this material coming from, and it's very motivational. I admired the guys for who they were already and all the good things they've done for other people, but now I look at them a little bit different because they show me how things do get better, how everyone can deal with their dark episodes in their lives, how there's always a way out. It was music for them, but there is a whole spectrum of things we can do on our own to help ourselves and others.

Call me cheezy, but I give massive props to the guys and can't wait for this album.

Well she is hot, but does that make it worthy of a collab? I don't like anything she does and to me its obvious that her and LP wouldn't work at all.

Oh come on, not everything has to be sunshine and rainbows. I don't agree with everything he says, but A_Thousand_fans' comments are usually well written and thought out. There are better people to get worked up over, what's the problem with people expressing their opinions?

What intrigues me about a KP/LP collab is the fact that on the surface it seems like it wouldn't work. But that's what intrigues me. If they could make it work, it could end up being the coolest thing in the world. I like it when musicians do something uncomfortable and turn it into something beautiful.

I don't think that's the problem. It's just that this interview is really personal and heavy, and for him to only mention the bit about Katy Parry is, at least for me, kind of disrespectful.
