It's a verily nice Hollywood Undead song! Oh.. Wait.. But seriously, it's much better than Heavy and Battle Symphony. I like it!
This song is hot pointless garbage. If your definition of going in on a verse is delivery and nothing else, then yeah I guess it's decent. But do yourself a favor and raise your standards. Thank fuck Kendrick is dropping tonight to wash this out of my ears.
Same, super old username that kinda just stuck with me across multiple boards/foums/etc. Pretty much use it for stuff outside of LP as well. And I'd hardly call myself a usual critic >.< I've absolutely loved everything LPs done until these 3 recent songs.
Now that I think of it, it actually does sound a bit like a song that Hollywood Undead would have done a few years ago. Either you've been listening to the wrong music or your mind isn't open enough.
Actually upon listening a second and third time, this song feels like Mmmm Cookies Vol. II... On a studio record.
I feel like each of those 3 released songs follow somewhat a similar pattern. Catchy as fuck, average lyrics, poppy structures, some subtle instrumental changes going on, and some big top-20 radio feelings. The later is the biggest turn off on my part. You can't just make the song sound 10 times dumber with a single comment...
Finally, a rap/hip hop/ song I can enjoy. By far my least favorite genre ever but this song is a banger. Chester makes it stand out from the senseless drivel some of my friends listen to around me
I mean, you're also on a Linkin Park fan forum. Maybe it's less "we need to raise our standards" and more "why are your standards so high? It's Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, if you're expecting GOOD rapping you haven't been listening the last 17 years."
This song is meh and you know it. We are a long, long way from the quality of ATS and even THP. I didn't even like THP but after these 3 songs I can look back and at least appreciate it more.
If I'm being real, all Linkin Park songs are pretty meh. To the point of me saying pretty solidly that LP is my "guilty pleasure" band that I don't tell people I listen to. Backstreet Boys? Fuck yeah. Carly Rae Jepsen? Queen of pop. Linkin Park? Oh God, even I have standards. ATS is still my favorite LP album. It's the best LP album, bar none. But like, in the overall scope of music in the world I've listened to, it's a 6-7 at best. Is this song meh? Yeah, sure. But so are 90% of LP songs if I'm being completely honest. Doesn't mean I don't like them. Unless it's Meteora of course, which is a dumpster fire being shat on by a homeless baby-eater.
Good stuff, Chester sounds great as always ans Mike's still got that mean rap game in him. Pretty solid song overall.
I appreciate and accept this answer. I disagree on the Meteora review but that is probably a discussion for another thread. Carry on good sir.
