Some of it isn't much different than what's posted here, sadly. That's what upsets me most about this cycle, is I expect that kind of behavior from YouTube & Facebook, but not here, and people need to check themselves before clicking reply.

Just listened to it. First impressions are 'meh', but it's growing on me a lot with repeated hearings, much like Battle Symphony. Heavy took a lot of listens for me to truly enjoy.

I will admit it, those 3 new songs really succeed on one thing : catchiness. Or two things: catchiness, and production. The sound quality is really top-notch.

And as much as I'm not too keen on that musical direction, those melodies gotta be some of their most addictive in a long, long time. At least, you can tell they've worked on that.

And okay... Cheesiness aside. GG is sort of a jam. Sort of.

    YouTube comments are cancer. Really.

As for the song, since I don't really dig that genre I'm not really satisfied with Good Goodbye. I was glad to hear Mike rap, but that's it for me. Chester's delivery echoes to other songs of the band (Hello LITE) and I quite like it.
But really I think I would have liked the song more if Pusha T and Stormzy were not on it. So far that's the only collaboration Linkin Park had that I don't think was necessary.

Still, it's really amazing that the band tries new genres and reinvent themselves, and what's more amazing is a lot of fans are still behind them and telling the band to keep up the great work. I find it beautiful!

Battle Symphony is still my fav tho.

Also, this is the best lyric video they have released.

I'm saying, that if this album is not a commercial success, whose fault is that? Heavys commercial success is making up for the backlash? ok, cool. But that's not what I asked. If it fails, whose fault would that be? Are "rap rock fans" really so numerous as to cancel out the entire market for modern pop?

I am willing to bet money that on the chance this album doesn't do well, a huge chunk of this board will absolutely blame everyone besides the band. Either the fact that their fanbase refuses to grow up ( a more than moot point I'd argue considering their last decade of material, but I digress), or that this music will "go over everyone's heads" somehow. The "prejudice" should in no way tank the album in and of itself. But will it? I guess we'll find out soon enough. I've hedged my bets on what will happen, now we play the waiting game.

Still not sure why Alvin the chipmunk didn't get included as being featured on this song since he's quite prominent in some of the choruses.

High pitched sampling is VERY common in hip-hop. I'm not sure why the hell people are making such a big deal out of it. It's fun.

I mean this hasn't happened just only with this album cycle, it has happened in the past occasionally and didn't last for long. I guess this album did made people a lot more opinionated and brash about their pre-conceived beliefs about the band and music. But I do agree with your sentiment, people here, both who love and hate the new music, need to check about what they type before replying.

That's my main problem with it; It's very common in hip-hop. I know they are capable of producing sounds that are more out there and unique; they've done it before. Having said this, I still dig the song, it isn't as bad as some people are making it out to be, for sure.

The band does all sorts of things that are common in x genre, though. No-one ever complains about this until it happens to be a genre they don't like.

Only heard this song about 4 times because of the new Kendrick Lamar

But each time I listen it, it amazes me how good it is. I'm excited for OML and I can wait for the album now because I'm sure I'll be listening to this new Kendrick for a month straight. Also if the rumored second Kendrick album on Sunday turns out to be true, I'll be feasting.

You are aware that this isn't the first time the band has done this high-pitched effect, right?

Not sure if you are insinuating this about me, but I did say I still like the song, regardless. Nor did I say anything hinting that I did not like this particular genre.
