I'm gonna go singular. Huge speculation here, but I liked the idea someone put forth that "The Last Jedi" is Luke, but not in the way we think. As it is right now, there are no more Sith. Snoke and Kylo Ren are technically "Dark Side," but aren't Sith. Likewise, Luke is The Last Jedi because he will not train Rey as a Jedi. The Jedi Order fell with Anakin because of their flawed rules and tenets. After Luke rebuilt the Jedi Order, it once again fell. The speculation is that he will train Rey in both Light and Dark Side ways, as to achieve a true "balance of the force." Clearly, what the Jedi were doing didn't work, so it would make sense for him to do something else entirely. The red lettering would also lend to this idea I remember Rian Johnson saying that he will do something in The Last Jedi that has never been done in a Star Wars film before, so maybe this is it. But again, this is major speculation from just a three-word subtitle.
1. Revenge of the Sith 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3, The Phantom Menace 4. Rogue One 5. Attack of the Clones 6. A New Hope 7. Return of the Jedi 8. The Force Awakens No Regrets. Love all 8 though.
I'm interested in what 'The Last Jedi' has to offer. I really want it to be something no other star wars film has been or has done. I highly doubt it but here's to hoping
Jedi in "The Last Jedi" is plural. http://www.ign.com/articles/2017/02...tle-is-plural?abthid=58a6ea17ec5504c140000004
This is now officially the Star Wars thread. THE LAST JEDI TEASER TRAILER. TEASER POSTER. 1920x1080 FANMADE WALLPAPER EDITION. DISCUSS.
I like the color palette Rian Johnson's using, and I like how little the trailer shows about the movie.
I think it's a plausible theory, but I definitely don't expect the term "grey jedi" to actually show up, and I don't expect there to be that much discussion about the true balance of the force. It will be too heavy-handed for general viewers, it has to maintain a clear "good vs evil" feeling
I merged the Episode VII thread with this one since talk of The Last Jedi was taking over that thread. No sense in having two threads talking about the same thing. May the Force be with you.
Was wondering why I couldn't find a catch-all thread before, then checked and saw it was posted by Delicious Dave. And since you can't see threads started by someone you have ignored...
Not gonna lie, I'm leagues more hyped for the final season of Star Wars Rebels than The Last Jedi. The New Republic stuff just isn't for me and I haven't been that interested in it compared to the Rise of the Empire and Galactic Civil War eras, even when I read the EU stuff back when. Similarly, I enjoyed Rogue One much more than The Force Awakens.
I think it is that nostalgia, maaaan. Haha. I'm hyped for everything coming up. Even the story in the new Battlefront game.
