Of course, I don't advocate listening to a leak without supporting the band by purchasing the album but just over a week out in this day and age, anybody surprised it hasn't hit the Internet underground shelves? From memory, The Hunting Party / Living Things and even M2M were leaked well in advance.
I remember Korn's new album that came out last fall not leaking until like a day or so before the first release date. I think labels are getting better about releases not leaking until very close to the album's release. IIRC the first release date for One More Light is on Monday so it'll be on the internet no later than that but I'd expect it to leak some time this weekend.
Oh ok. I read a post somewhere (maybe reddit?) that said it was coming out on the 15th in some region but now I can't find the post or any information pertaining to a different release date anywhere so I'm wondering if I dreamed the whole thing. lol
Albums leak a day before they release these days. I have a feeling this has to do with the shipment of CDs now that they release on Fridays instead of Tuesdays. For example: Ed Sheeran's "+" leaked less than 24 hours before release Kendrick Lamar's "Damn" leaked 6 hours before release Thee XX's "I See You" leaked only a day before release It's rare for albums to leak weeks before these days.
They've been doing this with games too. Making release dates worldwide if they can to prevent spoilers, any leaking from happening. Even 2 years ago it was a bit different. Wish it would leak as I've been refreshing like crazy for it, but unfortunately it may not leak until Wednesday or Thursday unless Linkin Park does a live stream... in that case. I doubt they will with all the backlash they've been getting for just the songs released thus far.
They even have the advantage of gaining a couple days on shipping with the Friday release date. With the old Monday/Tuesday releases they'd have to ship the CDs on Tuesday/Wednesday of the previous week to make sure the weekend in between didn't make anything arrive late.
