If you joined the LPA during the previous album cycle, you may remember that I published a pre-release review for The Hunting Party on my alternative music website, AltWire. A few of you have asked when AltWire would be reviewing One More Light, and I'm happy to say that the wait is finally over! To read the AltWire review of One More Light, check out the review on Altwire here. Excited for One More Light? What are your thoughts on the album having read the review? Let us know in the forums!
Please do not share the reddit or Facebook link, and share the Altwire link if you can. We've done some fixes so we should be able to handle the traffic now.
Great Review. It Would of been nice to have a track by track though. But this was very well written...
Excellent review. Very cool to read. What are your impressions of NCSM? And are there songs with distinct vocal interplay with Mike and Chester aside from GG?
Can't wait for Sorry for Now and Nobody can save me. I couldn't wait for Talking to Myself and it didn't disappoint me.
Oh man, now I can't wait to hear Sharp Edges. Also no comment about Nobody can Save me? Hmmm maybe is bad or maybe is so good you don't want to spoil anything about it to us.
Thanks for the review, Derek! Particularly looking forward to alot of the ones you've described like Sorry For Now and Sharp Edges. Really feeling like this could be up there as one of my favourite albums alongside MTM, ATS and LT.
Too bad those lyrics for Nobody Can Save me aren't true, I really liked them. Oh, yes, Sharp Edges does sound interesting, Chester talking to his younger self, hmmmm.
Derek! That is beautifully written! Big props to you my man. A big refreshment over the first reviews we have gotten comparing this album to hybrid theory.
It definitely makes me feel like the "honest" album talk was undoubtedly true. The themes for these songs are by far the most mature lyrically they've ever done. It's crazy to think back to those studio updates we got emailed a few years back to the point were at now and think that this was the album they were talking about. Cannot wait.
it's because of the Good Goodbye video where it played the outro of NCSM. Unless it's just the intro to GG. This review was well written. Overall though an 'A' is quite a statement. I think there are some really good songs on the record but an 'A' is saying a lot. I think "heavy" by itself brings it down a half grade or even 1 full grade. You can't convince me that's 'A' music, especially with lyrics like "i drive myself crazy", "i dont like my mind right now", "my mind is so fucking messy", and "why is everything so heavy". Also while it wasn't LP who wrote the line "A period is after every sentence", I just cringe at that every time.
