I take it you do not have an appreciation for how much sublime production and additional elements add to a song.

    And good.

I would say simple, catchy and accessable accurately sums up a lot of LP's music in general though. Which is no bad thing.

lol I know there much stuff going on Heavy (I've made remake of it, and took me a long time btw) I just said the whole song is those chords repeated. and I wished it has more variations, that's all.

Right but to boil a song down to it's chords is a mistake. And, honestly, with a song as short as Heavy, and with the structure of Heavy, additional progressions aren't really required. It works well enough the way it is. And, yes, I produce music too. You can do a lot with a single progression, and it can oftentimes be very hard to come up with a second progression that feels natural with the preceding progression, simply because a song might not even need to have more than just one progression. :)

"Even then, those are the most adventurous songs on the album. The rest fall into the same category of morose rock anthems that Linkin Park has been dutifully putting out for years. Only these are riddled with generic platitudes about how "if I fall, get knocked down / I'll pick myself up off the ground" (Battle Symphony) and "what doesn't kill us makes us stronger" (Sharp Edges). Played in succession with Laughter, Light is an illuminating reminder that not all bands can get better with age."

Jeez, so much hate for OML, ey?

Part of me doesn't want to know what LPA Elections 2007 looked like, or worse, LPA Elections 2003. :shudder::shudder:

Also, Heavy may be a simple pop song but sonically I like it more than Burn It Down and What I've Done already as lead singles. Plus, have you seen the live performances of Heavy during the SA leg? Holy shit, they all sound consistently great. I've never heard Chester sound this good since 2009.

To be honest, the new stuff of Paramore's really good, so LP's new record pales by comparison. And their self titled album? Goddamn dude, I never expected Paramore to make an album that big.

Talking of lead singles, it seems to be a general consensus that the lead single from most of LP's albums has ended up being percieved as amongst the weakest on that album.

I personally only find this to be true in the case of Meteora, LT and possibly THP (if you count UIG which recieved the most proper promotion). OSC, WID and TC are all classic LP tracks that capture the sound of that specific era pretty well.

Damn, are those really some of Sharp Edges lyrics?

Yooooo.... Man, you really don't know what you got until it's gone.

It's one line from the song. Put in context it might sound more meaningful.

Wait until you hear the song before judging imo. People who look for things to hate in a band like LP will cherry pick the hell out of everything, so I am not entirely sure if this is an honest representation of the album.

Yeah, I know. After Laughter is definitely a level up version of their Self-Titled album. Who's their producer? is it Justin Meldal-Jensen? That guy is so good. Take note, LINKIN PARK.

Ah easy guys, I'm just chilling

I honestly don't care enough to hate on this album anyway. And I could like that song.

Eh! this band is overrated as hell, I heard way much better indie pop tbh.

I used to be able to hear some other genres on radio stations a few years ago and today it is nearly impossible.
As far as Heavy is concerned it's really catchy and gets into your mind easily. Even if I haven't listened to it for at least a week it's in my head.
