I've digested it, and I think this is the best Foo Fighters album. No weak tracks, and they definitely experimented with most of these songs. This was such an ambitious project, and I think they (ok, Dave Grohl because let's be honest here haha) succeeded to a very large extent.

    Okay, okay.

I'll admit that I like Something From Nothing despite it's god awful lyrics and vocal delivery.

    This is a good album.

But it didn't impress me. I didn't connect to it. I know I've only heard it once, but I don't even feel like I'll ever connect to it. Foo Fighters are better off just being pointless, it seems. Just making music for the sake of it.

My extremely subjective opinion is that this is the worst Foos' record since In Your Honor.

Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace > The Colour and the Shape = Wasting Light > One by One > Sonic Highways = In Your Honor = Foo Fighters > There Is Nothing Left to Lose.

Finally got to listen to the whole album on a road trip going home from Cali just a couple of hours ago.

I actually really like Sonic Highways! Not a weak song whatsoever, in my opinion. Really dug "What Did I Do?/God As My Witness" and especially "I Am A River".

EDIT: Add "Congregation" as one of my favorite Foo Fighters songs ever.

I got it for Christamas. Definitely one of the best Foo records in a while. I'm not quite getting the lukewarm reception it's been reciving. Did they hype the shit out of it? Sure. But when taken at face value, it's pretty great.

Gave it a listen a few days ago. I feel what they're trying to do here. I can feel everything Dave is putting into this album. There's a lot of soul here. That said, I'm with Robert. I just didn't connect to it much. I just found myself zoning out. There's good stuff here, I just won't be coming back too often.

I haven't seen the video yet, but the song is fucking great. I'm really hoping that their next album isn't a Sonic Highways Pt 2 though.

New Foo Fighters? Count me in! Run sounds great. If the rest is as good as that song it's gonna be one hell of an album.

It's not like they have to compete with One More Light for that :kappa:
