There have certainly been more and more bad apples cropping up due to it being the genre most tied to radio listeners and therefore most prone to radio crap artists, but there are many really good country artists. Top tier stuff.

I wouldn't go as far as to call it pop country but we're talking about the same thing. Modern country is not as terribly bad as it's made out to be. ------ Sleeping with Sirens is actually a pretty good band and I have a good amount of respect for the stuff they do.
Sempiternal BMTH and some of the newer songs by Periphery are as heavy as I go. I can't stand anything heavier.
Pop Country is a made up genre by haters #staywoke Rise Against announced a US tour with Deftones, a seperate US tour with Pierce the Veil, and a EU/UK tour with Sleeping With Sirens. Out of all these options, the one I would want to see the least is Deftones.
